No good way to outright stop it. But I think the real question is should we do something to allow poorer people access to the US to work. That is where the illeagal immigrants come from. Just people that typically want to work and take care of their families but don't have the knowledge or money to follow the normal process. So rather than keeping them as illeagal to we update our laws to be more accepting? Cause about the only real way to stop it would be to arm guards along the boarder and make it ok to shoot on site. Make the punishment something that makes the risk too high and it will stop. Beind shot on site would probably do that. But that is the WRONG answer.

The answer to all ills is free markets. First stop the bleeding by building a wall, using border agents to catch people coming here illegally.
Then drive around where day laborers work, ask for green cards and ID. Go to job sites of businesses that can use illegals: construction, restaurants, etc. Have a law so anyone hiring an illegal is arrested on the spot. TAKE THEIR JOBS AWAY AND THEY GO AWAY. NO WORK, NO WAY TO SUPPORT THEMSELVES.
Then, offer a guest worker program for people who will take jobs that Americans will not (if there are still any left). Have private companies find the people and have a strict admittance and monitoring policy.
NO AMNESTY. If you came here illegally, you cannot become a citizen. Eliminate anchor babies ie you are born here, you have the right to be a citizen.
This is my understanding of the House version of the Republican bill.
The big part of this is the government needs to get out of all the things it is in and start defending this country, both abroad and at home. Get out of welfare, social security, health care, and on and on. Government is nothing but a big bloated bureaucracy that is full of big government liberals who get nothing done.

We can and should immediately stop the illegal alien invasion.
A 5 year prison term coupled with a huge fine for those who employ illegal aliens would work wonders in the War Against Illegal Aliens.
300-400 thousand troops stationed on the Southern border with orders to do whatever is necessary to halt the invasion would also work. It would cost more than the first option.
Totally block illegal aliens from receiving, free medical help, free education for their illegal children, drivers licenses, IDs, social services, and make it plain as day that they do not have any rights while in the US illegally. Jail them for demonstrating, using false SS#s, or any other false documents.
Just get the government to do its job, instead letting it continue to aid and abet this criminal enterprise.
Anything will help, start deporting illegal aliens in a serious and vigorous manner.
It can all be done..... Congress is a roadblock, Bush is a roadblock. Nothing has changed.... except that the Great American Silent Majority is finally speaking out and Congress may reluctantly be starting to listen.... Bush still needs to clean his ears. Their feet are dragging, their resistance is high..... but they do fear the American voter.

I live in Ca and there are a lot of illegals here. I have never in my life seen such hard working people for very little money. What would happen to the economy if every single one was deported? Do you have any idea what the grocery stores would look like. You would be paying out the pa-tute for everything from tomatoes to peaches. It makes me wonder how much a pound of tomatoes would be or what the price would be for a bunch of apples????
Building a wall is not the answer. It reminds me of the Berlin War only that wall was built to keep people IN.
Of for pete sake, get off the sickness. There is sickness everywhere and it does NOT entirely come from one race of people. You are a very racist person. I feel sorry for you. Where in the hell did AIDS come from???? Did that come from the Hispanic people..?? NOOOOOOOOOOOO
I truly believe that we should protect our country, my husband was a Marine. But deporting a person that has worked in these United States for 5-6 years, I don't think is right. Are you trying to blame 9-11 on the Hispanic race? You need to go back and read about 9-11.
There is so much hatred in this world. God help us all.
Let me tell you something little girl. I am not going to down myself and agrue with you. You have your right to your opinion and I have mine. The Hispanic people that live in my neighborhood do not make $3.00 per hour.
Like I have said you have a right to your opinion and I will not sit here and battle back and forth with you. But I want to tell you this before I leave this section.
My nephew is here on a Green Work Card!!! AND this same nephew of mine is also a very proud UNTIED STATES MARINE. He has done a tour of duty in Iraq. He is working on his citizenship. He just signed up for THREE more years in the MARINES, on this green card. So you want to talk about people fighting to protect this country. I am leaving this section and will not be back. People like U make me sick!!!!!!!!
One more thing. I am an Hispanic woman that is a United States Citizen. I would like for you to know that there are other avenues that you have to partake in a higher salary employment. I have been a Registered Nurse for the last 14 years. I love God, my Country, my job and MY NEPHEW!!!!
BY THE WAY I JUST GAVE YOU A THUMBS UP SO GET HAPPY.. BYE

Work with cities and all 50 states to pass state and local ordinances that reinforce the law on illegal immigration. If ya can't get a job as an illegal, and you can't get a driver's license, or all the other 'goodies' that Mexico's been lobbying for, then it really doesn't pay to be in the US illegally. Charity's one thing, but we're well into stupidity on this thing...

i think we should only stop illegal immigration if the illegal immigration involves illegal activity such as smuggling drugs. Think about it..you are a mexican.....your country sucks and is so poor that you dont have all these nice clothes and stuff that america has..would you try to get into the country even if it meant illegally..or stay in a ****** up country? Id sure as hell come to america legal or not! I just think they SHOULD have to pay taxes if they want to be legal though

Mexico could stop their people from immigrating by actually paying attention to their needs, the Mexican government SUCKS!
Mexican people also need to understand that after the events of 9/11/01 this country cant afford to have people just pouring in here that we dont know who they are, we need to know who is here for the security of our country, not to mention the diseases these people may carry, anytime you are going into another country that give you certain vaccines, so not only could people in our country get sick, the immigrants could get sick also.
there have been several newer cases of Tuberculosis in california and nevada, most have been illegal immigrants.
OK and the people that are of corse going to say "well they work hard for very little money.." well I ALSO WORK HARD FOR VERY LITTLE MONEY.. if it is your only option then you are going to do it, they are taking american jobs away by being in our country and doing this work for so cheap, what the hell are you thinking, the companies rid themselves of the hardworking american workers who make more than $7.00 and hour and hire illegals to do the same thing for $3.00 and hour, it is their fault, american families are suffering because of this. dont you see that at all???

Agrees with Trumpetman and RC. And, yes, it can be stopped. If we get the right people in office that want to uphold the laws of the land. First you build a fence to make it harder to get in, then you begin rounding them up and fining employers who want this cheap labor. If the money for jobs dries up, they will stay at home and improve their own country or they will apply for citizenship like all past immigrants have done.

enforce our laws and secure our border, for a start.
Poor people's taxes don't begin to cover their cost in education funds and other services. We can't afford this many and still give our own people decent services. That is why we limited them to begin with. The comments about just letting people come ignore why we had the limits, to start with.

Arm the border with the military and stop policing the world or we will be in civil war here in the USA in the next 15-30 years.
