the old testament is the basis of the religion of the Jews...yes it has been used for so many years up to now, but it doesnt lead you to salvation cause salvation could only be found in Jesus Christ and He is found on the New testament of the Bible...

The Old Testament is the basis for all religions as it is.
Without the quotes from the Old Testament you would not have a New Testament. Well it would be very limited.

the first person is right. for the new testament is a fulfillment of the old testament prophecy. but many church of today focus more on the new than they do the old. we have to understand that without the old the new would not have any meaning for Jesus teachings are based on the teachings of the old. not just new teaching from himself. most of his teaching is a better interpretation or easier explanation of the old testament. the old stands its own ground , but as the new testament explains many follows of the old also don't follow it correctly. (example of Jesus actions when money and live stock was sold in the temple.)
