no i d o not think they are terrorists. Hezbollah was created as a result of the Israeli occupation in in Syria and Lebanon in 1969(?).

A group of Arabs from the region, supported by its Arab and Persian neighbors, formed Hezbollah as a reactionary measure towards the occupying Israeli's. These "freedom fighters" were labelled terrorists because of their stand against Israel. Unfortunately, that connotation has stayed with them. How else can the media villanize them? Lets call them terrorist and that'll do it.

Ok, here's the truth....
At first I though Hezbollah members were terrorists just like you guys. However western media is biased as we all know, and I am grateful enough to live in the Middle East so I know more than most of these people here. I am American so don't say "You think they aren't cuz yur an Arab!!" I think like you guys, but think about it - Israel just violated the cease fire and Hezbollahh didn't. If anyone are terrorist it's Israel. They bombed innocent houses during the war. Hezbolla members are "Mujaheddin" which means people who fight for a cause. They are fighting Israel because Israel was occupying part of their land, and Hezbollah feels the land is very scared and religious. Israel is fighting for power. Taliban, Al-Qaida, and all those guys ARE terrorists, but Hezbollah isn't. HOWEVER, if an unarmed Jew was to walk in the street, I believe they would kill him, but that's because of ignorrance and Jews have it too. In all, I believe they aren't because they fight for what they believ just like America did to England during the Independent War :)

A complicated question.

The reason I would pose that Hezbollah is a terrort is that they performed a possibly successful operation to free prisoners from Israel without the consent of the Lebanese people (the democratic government). Otherwise they performed much the the US and other peoples with a "right to bear arms" would in the event of an attack except with larger weapons. In this, way they appear to be more like resereves or armed citizens.

The country should have attempted to find and arrest/destroy those who commited the violence against Israel (could have caused civil war, I understand why they didn't), and should have also done all that is in its sovreign power to get the sheeba farms and prisoners back peacefully (such as actually asking for them at the UN for instance...).

There is also their goal to destroy Israel, which appears to make them terrorists or more like an aggresive state.

A Revolutionary Organization 17 November. I hate the undeniable fact that it embroiled the Lebanese human beings in a combat they do no longer desire. A majority of Lebanese (Druze, Sunnis and Maronites) desire Hezbollah disarmed. Why would desire to Hezbollah impose its schedule on Lebanon? additionally, there is no longer something to stand up to. Israel left Lebanon, and the Shebaa farms at the instant are not area of Lebanon except Syria attracts the border between it and Lebanon. something that Syria continuously refuses to do.

No, they are a legitimate resistance movement against Israel. Look at what Israel has done:

-invaded the West Bank in 1967.
-refused a UN resolution (242, passed in 1967) telling it to leave the West Bank and other occupied territories, including Shebaa Farms
-kidnapped thousands of Lebanese and Palestinian civilians and threw them in jail without a trial (currently, 10000)
-committed war crimes (demolished Arab houses to make way for Israeli settlers, cut of power and water supply to villages, targeted the civilian infrastructure in bombing raids, etc.)
-breached international law on numerous occasions

Basically, it comes down to this. Israel is illegally occupying the West Bank. It will not listen to diplomacy, as is evidence by its refusal to heed UN Resolution 242, telling it to get out. So, Hezbollah has taken it upon themselves to make Israel leave the West Bank by force. And guess who killed more civilians? Israel. It's not like Hezbollah is composed of evil baby killers -- Israel is killing more civilians than Hezbollah is -- over 10 times more, in fact. This would all be over if Israel withdrew from the territories which it is illegally occupying and complied with international law. But it's not. So Hezbollah needs to fight for justice and for their rights.

They are a resistance group, and they have not killed any civilian except AFTER Israel targeted Lebanese civilians.

sure- they are financed by Iran and Syria, both countries have paid and engaged interrorism before.

Hezbollah gets weapons from Iran to fire rockets into Israel...even when NO soldiers are in Lebanon.
