In Matthew 19:14 Jesus said "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." There is your answer. Because little children have innocence and have not fallen to the hands of sin, they are unstained. Jesus accepts them just as they are, and expects his followers to be the same - innocent. When a child dies for what ever reason (illness, accident or even abortion) the Bible tells us that the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these (meaning children). Therefore I believe little children are in heaven. I also believe that anyone who is unable to accept Christ on their own, due to extreme mental retardation, are accepted into heaven. This is because they have the minds of children and are unable to understand what Christ did for them, nor are they able to understand the concept of sin.

People just apply that too babies. It applies too everyone at any age.
You are not sin, until what? You have heard TRUTH, and rejected the Hearing. That's why people that have never heard the Gospel are not condemned. You are condemned by rejecting and denying Jesus Christ, not by not ever "hearing" of The Gospel.
Some people will tell you the age of accountability is about 12 years old. This is a false teaching. This age is whatever age you have heard TRUTH, and make a choice to accept it or deny it. This could be 50 years old for some people.

I don't think that it is a direct quote...
But the Bible does talk about the age of accountabilty.. up until that time you are not held accountable for things that you don't know.. and seeing how a new baby would not know of Jesus, and Heaven then the child would go to Heaven.

I hope you aren't starting in on babies. Babies are innocent and they don't know they sin, because from the time you are born you are a sinner, therefore, babies will go to God because they don't know any better. I'm sure their is a passage in the Bible and I'm ashamed that I don't know it, so I'm sorry thats just my thoughts on the matter and I kinda like them!

A baby has not been corrupted by the world. So there is no sin in its life. The baby with no sin will go to heaven.

It's not in the Bible. It's a Catholic idea. Apparently, some people were upset at the idea that unbaptized babies would have to go to hell. So then that church changed their dogma so that unbaptized infants and people who had never heard of God due to advanced heathenism and rampant isolation would get to go to heaven or purgatory or wherever they're sending them now. I think purgatory doesn't exist anymore, according to Catholic dogma--interesting how by just making a church edict, they can get rid of an entire realm of existence. Or maybe it just never existed (for those of you who didn't catch my previous irony.)

The Bible does not expressly state that babies who die will go to heaven, but it DOES say that "the soul that sins shall die", and a baby has not committed any sins, so if the baby dies, it will NOT go to hell, but to heaven.
