This is kind of a gross topic, so I'm sorry!
Anyway, lately I've been having this problem......I seem to be farting ALL the time, and it smells really bad, and I feel really bloated as well. When I go to the bathroom to open my bowels I always feel like I haven't emptied them properly, but nothing else comes out.
I don't think I'm constipated, I go fairly regularly and it's not difficult to pass a motion or anything like that. I do eat a lot of fibre, I probably don't drink as much water as I should though.
Anyway, it's getting really embarrassing, especially the farting all the time. What's wrong with me, and what can I do to stop it? I'm serious, please don't give me rubbish answers.

While you can't prevent farting completely, there are a few things you can try to cut down on the number of farts you produce:
1. Chew your food well. Don't eat quickly. You'll tend to swallow a lot of air.
2. Avoid foods which are notorious for causing gas: beans, cabbage, corn, caulilflower, broccoli, bell peppers, raisins and prunes, to name just a few. Some foods cause farts to smell worse than usual: these include cauliflower, eggs and meat.
3. Resting for a while after you eat (for about 30 minutes or so) may also aid digestion and can help avoid the formation of gaseous pockets.
4. Avoid chewing gum and drinking a lot of carbonated beverages, since these tend to introduce a lot of air into the stomach.
And finally, if you think you're experiencing more gas than usual, or if you start having other symptoms, like runny bowel movements or more cramping than usual, see your doctor. You may be suffereing from inflammatory bowel disease!
Take care, and I hope this helps! :)

There is over the counter medicine for gas. There is Milicon or just be sure to get something that contains simethicone. If that doesn't help, try some yogurt containing "lactobacillus acidophilus" (not real sure of spelling.) This may not help but it won't be too expensive and it surelly won't hurt. Eat one or two per day for a while. If all else fails, you may need to see a doctor. Good luck. Oh yes, lactose could be the cause. (milk products)

You could try taking anti-gas pills they sell over the counter and see if that helps. Also, try to take a good look at everything you are eating, see if you can eliminate something from your diet that may be causing it. Were you eating different foods (or in different portions) before this problem started? If you can't find any changes in your diet that may affect this, and the gas pills don't help, go see a doctor. It also sounds like you may want to ask your doctor about irritable bowel syndrome, if these symptoms continue.

I actually have a problem a lot like that, although it's not as bad as it used to be -- I don't know why -- and I used to get really, as you said, bloated... feeling like my whole abdomen was just filled up with air. It as actually very uncomfortable and painful. I don't have a solution for you, but I definitely try to drink lots of water and healthy foods. It seems like the days I eat more junk food that passed gas is more "smelly" than when I eat healthy things, although it is said that healthy things make you pass more gas (but passing gas is not bad). If you're still really concerned, go talk to your doctor. :) Hope everything turns out okay.

Try some bean-o or simethicone, which are both over the counter anti-flatulents. Also increase your water intake, and try decreasing your fiber slightly for a little while. Other than that, if the gas persists, you should probably be checked out by a doctor. Good luck. :)

My daughter had the same problem, turns out she is intolerant of wheat and dairy products. Try and go without them for a week and see if it makes a difference for you. You have to become a bit of a label reader, many things contain wheat flour or dairy products without being obvious about it.

It could be a lot of things. Take a look at the food you eat. Have you added to or changed your diet? Are you on any new medication?
Are you taking any supplements? Are you using drugs or alcohol?
If it bothers you this much, please call your doctor. He/she is really the best person to ask. Good luck!

Fiber can cause gas. Drink more water, this helps everything.
Bloating & gas can be a symptom of gallbladder trouble. You may want to get this checked out.
