if you were interested in someone, but they were shy around you (assuming that they actually return your feelings but you dont know it) would you still be attracted to them? since they arent flirting with you or initiating conversations would you just give up on them or not bother asking them out? or would you somehow misinterpret shyness with snobiness?

Shyness is a definite turn off. Shyness stems from lack of confidence and nothing is sexy about that!

Shyness is not a turn off. When i get around a guy that I REALLY like, I sumtimes get really quiet. Sumtimes it's impossible to say sumthing. Some ppl don't understand that esp. friends because they keep pushing you and sumtimes they say u "need" to go and talk to them. But Friends they don't understand sumtimes. There are a lot of guys that like me but they don't relly say sumthing all of the time. They may have more feelings for you than you think. It is best to open up so that a possible relationship can form "if" that is what you are looking for. Soumtimes silent chemistry is the best chemistry. Just take it slow. Everything happens for a reason.

Some shy people are mistaken as being stuck-up, because they're not very outgoing and talkative. It's also hard to know if a shy person likes you or not, because they don't show their emotions on the outside. So yes, shyness can turn people off, if it is misinterpreted.

I think shyness is a major turn on. I would initiate conversation and try and get her to be more involved. But most likely I would make the first move.

Shyness is cool too a point. It makes the person seem more intriguing. But if its shy to a point where you can't have a conversation, then that's way beyond what you want!

to a point , i think shyness shows a certain level of sensitivity and compassion. but too much will lead a person to think you dont have a adventurous or wild side and to coast through life without living on the edge at some point is just waisting air

I try to be sensitive to others' sensibilities but I know that sometimes shyness looks like snobbery. It's tough but maybe learning to approach others might help. I keep thinking of that charm school that was recently featured on Yahoo news.

Shyness can be cute for a very little while. If it goes on too long, in my opinion, yes, it becomes a turn off

i think it depends on the person. Shyness can be such a lovely trait in a person because its 'real' i think you can certainly tell the difference between a snobby person and a shy person. Why dont you just ask this person out. if you dont ask you dont get

I think I would try to get to know them better.

Maybe they're shy for a reason... maybe they just had a bad breakup.

You never know if you don't ask.
