Some people don't realize that the bill of rights was created with the ideal of seperation of church and state.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Religion comes from belief in gods, they are one in the same. An endorsement of a generic god is also an endorsement of religions and a clear violation of the bill of rights. Our theist forefathers understood the importance of the ideal of seperation of church and state. The only reason the pioneers came here was to escape religious persecution. Modern day christians have forgotten this and use a generic god loophole to push there agenda. Before you say it, let me tell you that atheism is not considered a religion by the U.S. government. Perhaps it's because we rely on facts, not faith.
I pledge allegiance,
to the flag
of the United States of America,
and to the republic for which it stands,
one nation, (without atheism)
under god,
indivisible, (as long as you believe in a higher power)
with liberty,
and justice for all, (except unamerican Atheists).
I prefer the original pledge
I pledge allegiance,
to the flag,
of the united states of America,
and to the republic for which it stands,
one nation,
indivisible,
with liberty,
and justice for all.
The original doesn't leave anybody out or make them feel less American just because they don't believe in things that there is no evidence of.
Atheist.
Have a nice day!

Which one? I can say the Pledge to the Flag of the United States of America, the Christian Flag, the Bible, and the Confederate Flag. Oh and to the Missionette's flag which is a girls group in the Assemblies of God church that I was in as a teenager.
I pledge allegiance to the Flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands:
one Nation under God, indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.
I pledge allegiance to the Christian Flag and to the Savior for whose Kingdom it stands. One Savior, crucified, risen, and coming again with life and liberty to all who believe.
I pledge allegiance to the Bible, God's Holy Word, I will make it a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path and will hide its words in my heart that I might not sin against God.
I salute the Confederate Flag with affection, reverence, and undying devotion to the Cause for which it stands.
I pledge allegiance to the Missionette's flag and to the ministry for which it stands; girls united in Christian living, in witnessing, in service, in missions, and in love for others.

If you mean the United States Pledge of Allegiance, I can and do say it, though I leave out the "under God" reference, which doesn't belong. I would consider it improper and immoral to force anyone else to say the pledge, without or without the "under God" bit. Each according to his conscience.
