Yes. Many prominent people throughout history suffered from depression, bipolar disorder, etc. And most of them got along real well in life, although a few committed suicide. Mark Twain, Churchill, Patty Duke, Mike Wallace, Abe Lincoln, Vincent Van Gogh, Beetohoven, Poe, Hemmingway.

yes , don't let people who know nothing about mental health issues make you feel bad, there are lots of people who have it in many stages. It is an illness, just like heart problems etc, and it strikes anyone.oh and just to let you know, a clinical depressed person can not just get out of it, it takes meds, and therapy and u just don't snap out of it.

Intelligent people are probably more likely to. You know the saying "ignorance is bliss"? It's a very true statement. You'll notice less intelligent people don't care about things as much, and smarter people tend to think a lot (too much sometimes). Thinking can lead to doubting, doubting can easily lead to worry, worry can very easily lead to anxiety and/or depression.
My two cents.
