No, feral cats eat bugs as part of their prey.
Let him or her go to town.

So long as it is just harmless bugs, like flies and most house spiders, its not a problem. My cats do it all the time. Just dont let them try to go after bees or wasps, they could get stung. It actually happened to one of my cats. The poor thing was so confused when his prey "bit" back.

No it is a natural thing. I actually like it when my cat eats our house bugs because I don't have to do anything.

My cat eats spiders and flies, but stops short at eating silverfish. I've read that silverfish are poisonous to other insects so then maybe to cats also. She kills them with her paw and leaves them for me to get rid of. She must know instinctively not to eat that insect.

I've heard that daddy long legs can be harmful but cats seem to know that and don't eat them. All the other little many legged critters seem to be harmless.

Yes, flies have tons of bacteria [just think of where they are born/breed/what they eat] and cats sometimes have finicky stomachs, too. More people [and animals] probably die from fly-related diseases each year than any other cause. I wish that all the little blighters would die, never to be seen again!

No - its just protein. If they catch a spider or a buy in my house, its like Christmas to them (and I am -1 bug! Yea!).
If you find kitty sucking on a red-ant hill I would worry. Otherwise, let them enjoy!
Bon-Appetit!
=)
