She is a very outgoing kid and makes friends easily...however she is used to very strict rules, and I am afraid she may loose all the manners she has learned over the years.---Please give me suggestions on how to help her adapt.

She will not loose her manners that she has learned. It will be harder for you then for her. My son went to private school then we switched him to public and I was the one crying because I did not have that closeness with the school anymore. I felt like I had no ideal what was going on. So I started keeping in touch with his teacher through email. I am hoping to be able to do the same this year.Good Luck.

When our children were about in 6th grade we changed them from private to public schools. All went fine. Only advice is to be involved. Private school teachers communicate whereas we were forced to initiate the communication with public school teachers.

Public school may be less strict, but it also encourages good manners. It shouldn't be too big of a deal.
