Try Clairol Natural Instincts. It slowly washes out in about a month so you don't have root problems. Plus, their website has a virtual color try-on. You can upload a picture of yourself there and try on colors to see about what they would look like before dyeing.
If you can't upload a picture, they have models you can use. Just pick the one with the closest face shade and skin tone to your own. Ignore the hair, you're going to change it anyway. Plus, it's free to join.

try a wig. Going blonde from darkish brown will require you to bleach it. Boxed colour from the save has low lightening means (oneor 2 colorings) and also you may want to maximum in all probability finally end up pink instead. possibly a 'spray in' colour or a wig?

Since the home hair color won't work, better go to a beauty shop. They can also advise you on what shade of blond to get.

You can not temporary lighten hair. When you lighten hair you remove pigment. As in take it away. You can try toning your brunette but I truly think that is a waste of time.

You can't temporarily lighten your hair unless you buy a wig. If you are willing to dye it permanently, everybody I know swears by Feria by L'Oreal.
