It stands to reason, if God knows everything, then he also knew I would be an atheist, and if God is an allpowerfull, all knowing creator of all things, it stands to reason that he created me for the express purpose of not acknowleging his existence.
Now why would be punish me for the "sin" he created me to sin?

Is this logical? I can't find a flaw in the reasoning here, but that may be just because I am the one piecing it together. any thoughts?

According to Christian mythology, Didn't God create all things? Doesn't all things encompass evil and sin? So god created Evil and sin, ergo god must be an evil sinner?

Presumably, if god wanted you to be different, then he/she/it/they could have made you something different.

This is why the doctrine of original sin makes no sense. Why create humans with the capacity for choice but with no understanding of the difference between good and evil, then punish them for disobedience? Any human parent who treated his kid like that would see the kid taken away from him pretty damned quick.

That's a good question. Old, but still good. If God is omniscient, does that compromise the free will that he supposedly gave to us. Well, I'm not a religious person and I don't believe in the typical interpretations of God (especially that of a wrathful and jealous god that punishes and takes revenge) but I think of it this way: All existence is like a book. God can be interpreted as the creator of the material that book is made of and it's eternal reader, but the writers are those with free will, us. The reader, God, or whatever you want to call It, knows every possible thing that can be written in the book and all that is already written, but he cannot read that which hasn't been written yet. Like any reader with a good sense of observation and deduction skills, God can calculate the probabilities of what happens next in the story, but he cannot really know exactly what will happen, because that space is blank, it's unexistant. Of course that if you know every factor in a certain environment that can affect whatever is happening at a certain moment, you will most likely know the end result of that which is happening. For example: a rock is thrown into the air, you know of gravity and of all laws of physics and you know there're no obstacles to stop that rock before it hits the ground and that nothing is on its way fast enough to stop it, therefore you can safely conclude that the rock will inevitably hit the ground. I'm guessing that if you knew about everything in the universe that could change that outcome and you knew that nothing would be in that space/time to change it, you could call yourself omniscient. Hope that made sense. It's just the way I've imagined it. I'm an agnostic, by the way, although I do sympathize a lot with Taoism and tend more to Deism (Panendeism, more specifically).

God didn't make anyone anything. God is just another fake creation by man, and the Bible is trash.

Humanity has created many Gods, for example – Gods of Olympus, Ancient Egypt, Babylon and so on. Most of us are atheists about most Gods humanity has created, except the latest craze, the current God in the Bible. Learned atheists have also rejected this version of a God, but some hard-core believers still hang on, presumably until a better image of God is created by man.

Faith in God seems to be nothing more than humans attempting to run away from reality, an excuse to avoid thinking and evaluating evidence. Faith is just an emotional escape and really just a substitute for opening your eyes to reason.

Believers talk about God creating man in his own image. It’s in the Bible so it’s fact – get a grip, get real. The facts suggest the exact opposite. Man created God in his own image. I’m sure humanity will disregard this God, as they have disregarded all previous Gods, it’s just a matter of time before humanity creates another God that better serves their emotions and image.

The Bible is the biggest load of garbage and codswallop ever written by man, and I’m sure it will go down in history as the greatest load of gobbledygook ever to inflict such traumatic mental and physical damage on humanity, but still today, some people sadly believe the Bible to be true. That’s very sad indeed. Very sad.

When people quote various passages from the Bible, for example ...

Mathew 5:29-30 God encouraged self-mutilation.
Isaiah 13:15-18 God allowed women raped and little children slaughtered.
Genesis 6:11-17 and 7:11-24 God is the greatest mass murder in history.

What happens? Religious people pop up from under every stone with the same old garbage. “That was the old Bible, or we’ve changed the meaning, or we’ve changed the context, or the quotes are out of context or or or, excuse after excuse.”

The fact is, they are Bible quotes, and the Bible is full of evil atrocities which religious people continually cover up, yet seem happy to drum into the minds of gullible little children. This is such a shameful disgrace in a civilised world.

If religious people are unable to apply commonsense and logic to develop a simple moral code to live by, then perhaps they could strip out of the Bible the evil, murders, rapes, abuse, and all traumatic references. Granted there will not be a lot left to read, but at least religious people may end up with a decent moral code to follow based on good, and not scare the living daylights out of innocent little children.

This is part of what led me away from religion four years ago. As an ex-Christian, I can tell you that there are many places in the Bible where God expressly says that he creates some people for saving and others for destroying, and that he does this "for his pleasure" and/or "for his glory". Basically, he's playing a big, cosmic game - and he expects you not to argue, because after all, "I brought you into this world and I can take you out!"

*rolls eyes* I can't believe I used to believe in such a ridiculous myth.

God did not make you an atheiset. If you don't belive in God then Satan is the one who is influncing your brain. Yes, God does know everything that is going to happen but he only chooses to see some things. When he looks at you when you were a kid he did not say oh no (so-and-so) is going to be an atheist. He only looks into the future on what he wants to. (The fact that you are asking (If God" tells me that you are not a true atheist if you really think that there is a God)

When someone gives you a good answer, will you let me know what it is? I see that people are saying that you have free will, but I don't believe it. When God hardened pharoah's heart 7 times, where was pharoah's free will to repent? It sounds like God hardened it away. Free will is never mentioned in the bible, only predestination, and God's 'elect' people.

I'm not going to try and convince you that your logic is flawed or wrong...what you choose to think is what you choose to think, but consider this for a moment: God loves you so much that he wants you to be able to live as you choose. God did not create sin...and he wants people to choose to love him...he does want to force them. Love isn't true unless it is heart felt and deep...you can't force that.

I DON'T THINK THAT GOD IS PUNISHING YOU. I THINK THAT MANY PEOPLE DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD BECAUSE THEY HAVE A MISCONCEPTION OF WHO GOD REALLY IS. I ALSO THINK THAT MANY RELIGIOUS FANATICS OR BIBLE BEATERS THAT LABEL THEMSELVES AS CHRISTAINS, LEAVE A BAD IMPRESSION AND ALSO GIVES PEOPLE LIKE US WHO HAVE A SINCERE LOVE FOR GOD A VERY BAD NAME. IT MAKES US LOOK IGNORANT AND WHEN ASKED QUESTIONS, MOST OF THE TIME THE ANSWERS GIVEN ARE VERY SHALLOW AND JUDGEMENTAL. I AM A TRUE BELIEVER THAT GOD KNEW WHO AND WHAT YOU WERE GOING TO BE BEFORE YOU WERE EVEN BORN... BUT YOU ALSO HAVE FREE-WILL AND YOU CAN CHOOSE TO OR NOT TO CHANGE YOUR BELIEFS AT ANY GIVEN TIME. IT'S YOUR CHOICE. I ALSO THINK THAT MORE PEOPLE WOULD HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD OF THEY WERE MORE OPEN MINDED AND NOT TRYING TO BE SO TECHNICAL ABOUT EVERYTHING... JUST LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST. YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RIGHT AND WRONG AND YOU KNOW WHEN YOU'RE HURTING OR OFFENDING OTHER PEOPLE. I LIVE NOT FOR THE MOMENT, BUT FOR THE FUTURE BECAUSE MAKING THE WRONG DECISIONS "NOW" CAN AFFECT MY LIFE "THEN." STOP BEATING YOURSELF UP, NO MATTER WHAT, GOD MADE YOU AND HE'LL ALWAYS LOVE YOU...

1 - God created us and gave us the free will to believe whatever we want, do what we want and make our own choices in life, but all of this with His permission, nothing at all, however small or big, happens without His permission.

2 - God created all other creatures than Adam and Satan and their descendants without this gift of "Free Will", the Sun with its solar system, our Milky Way, the neighboring galaxies, even the entire universe with all its creatures included in it .All of them surrender to Him.

3 - God sent his prophets just to tell people that He is the only God in the existence, all of them did so .
Some people followed the prophets, others denied them and refused to obey God's commands .

4 - Every one obeyed God and believed his prophets, was promised by God to enter the Heaven .
and every one disobeyed God and refused his prophets, deserves to be punished by going to Hell.
THIS IS FAIR, I BELIEVE .

God says He knows the plans He has for your future. this part of being an atheist may just be a prelude to what He really has planned for you. perhaps, living an atheist life, will give more credence to the future He has plan for you.
