Sad, this is commenly what will happen when people give up their pets willy nilly without taking the proper precautions to rehome.
What to do now? Call the authorities and your local animal control and help procicute the person who fought her.
Then you nurse her back to health and never give her up again. Contact a professional behavorlist to assist you in working with your dogs self esteem. Make sure she is spayed as well. Very important to do soon.
She may come back around, she may not.

And they say animals don't have feelings. Your dog was taken away from the thing she most cherishes and that's you. She may think you abandoned her, so give lot's of love, invite her to play, and do some of the old things you guys used to do together. Maybe take the time for a long walk. But other than that, don't let her see the other guy again or it may scare her into doing what she did before. Hope I helped and good luck.
very sorry to hear what happened :(

First of all, I would take her to the vets, or PDSA, have her checked over...If she's been fighting, she could be in alot of pain and hiding it....(Its very hard to tell if there's something wrong inside)
This for a start should dispel any initial fears of why she is behaving as she is.......
Give her lots of love and attention, feed her boiled rice and chicken and keep her in the warm......
She may react differently to other dogs too, so beware of that...
I don't know what to suggest if your unable to keep her in your new property, though I wouldn't give her back to your 'mate'
Maybe its time to re-home the poor love...BUT PLEASE have her seen by a vet first x

I don't think her spirit is broken, but I think she is hurting and depressed. She loves you and she was sent somewhere else and was abused. I would report the person that fought her and find a new place for her where you have checked it out and KNOW that she will never be fought again. And a place where you can go and visit her. Good luck.

sounds like she needs lots of TLC. If you can't keep her, try finding someone responsible enough to handle a dog like her...and go and visit her often...as time passes and she adjusts to her new home, gradually make the visits fewer and further between. I hope everything works out for you and your dog...and you should have turned in 'dude' for fighting her...that makes me angry.

oh, how sad!!! well, if i were you, i wouldn't care what MY landlord said, i would just take my dog back. your dog obviously wouldn't eat because she missed you. after all, she knew you her whole life! why wouldn't she miss you?! so, take her back. well, i dunno. but maybe that person you have your dog to was cruel to her. if you do take her back, spend every single second with her, let her sleep with you, and make sure she knows she is loved. soon, she will eat again. if you were really cruel, you would let that guy have your dog. no offense or anything. but really. plead your landlord. if you really love your dog, she'll be ok again. hope this helped!

Take her to a vet to be sure there is no physical damage due to the fighting. Ask advice, they will be able to tell you if any medication is required to help her get over it. Patience, lots of it, assurance. That type of thing. Good luck!

Who cares. Its just a dog. Dogs bite humans. They should be left in the wild and not domesticated.

oh man. poor baby. I would call the vet and see if they suggest something. Maybe talk to your landlord and beg to keep her there or find another place to live.
I would report his @$$ for doing this to your dog.

keep your dog and give her lots of special attention.
press charges w/ Animal Care and Control; take pictures and weigh her. Video tape her depressed state. this is all of course if you press charges - which I hope you courageously do.
