Where does your cat's name come from?

Question

Well, for example, my cat Faithful's name comes from one of my favorite book series by Tamora Pierce, my cat Molly's from Harry Potter, and my boy Stripes is because he has stripes (very original i know...). What about your cute and cuddly?

I have 3 cats Sam and Meryn they are named after two of the hobbits from The Lord of the Ring books by J.R.R Tolkien. When we found Pumpkin more dead then alive in the forest and only about 3 weeks old my mother immediately decided to keep her and nurse her back to health and she called her Pumpkin because she was such a sweet little kitty fighting so hard to stay alive. She is still very sweet and she turned out to be a real Pumpkin because she is and adorable fur ball that loves to be cuddled and play

I have a cat Jake because Mom always wanted a cat named Jake. Yeah, I dont get it either.

Leo is short for Leoperd because he is a Bengle and actually is part leoperd.

Damien got his name because he is all black (but not the slightest bit evil sadly)

Franklyn we adopted from a shelter and he already had a name, so we didnt get to pick.

I have two cats and both are named after Winnie the Pooh. Their names are Roo and Pooh. I have been a fan of Winnie since I was like four and now I am 39 and still love everything Winnie. Even my son's nursery was done in Winnie the Pooh.

Patches-she was named at the shelter because she has only patches of tabby markings, then the rest of her is white.
Rocky-because when I got him, there was a rocky movie marathon on tv, plus his two front paws are all white, like gloves, and his two back legs are almost all white, like a boxers boots.
Bobby-because he has half a tail
BTW to jennifer V, tabby is the striped marking on a cat, it is not a mix.

Tinker - My nan used to have a cat with that name that looks like mine.
Archie - Hubby chose it
SAS/ Secret Agent Shadow - Brother in law chose it.........was his cat but went travelling so gave him to us.
Sam - My three year old son choose the name after Kids programme Fireman Sam

i use to have 4 cats in the past. first cat i had was named Barr. we use to have a dog name Candy. my named the cat Barr if you put 2 animals togeter you get Candy, Barr. ha, ha, funny.
2 cat i named him Baby. i found a kitten outside one winter. he was very small so i named him Baby. was always a small cat never got any bigger.
3. cat i named him Tobby short for October. i got him on my birthday.
4. Dusty when he was born he was gray. Dusty always liked to play in dust no matter what.
5. Hazel we named her off of her color of her fur.
6. cat was tabby. we have adopt a kitten and she was a tabby cat. couldn't come up with a name. so we named her tabby. tabby is known for a mix cat.
so that is how we came up with these names for our cats

My cat is named after Melanie Wilkes from Gone with the Wind. Ironically, she has Scarlett's looks and personality.

My cat's name was Spaz (may he rest in Kitty Heaven) for a very good reason. :)
I had him since he was a tiny kitten and ever since he could pounce, he'd pounce on everything from holes in the ground to sticks and rocks. He was a very crazy kitty. So, Spaz was very appropriate. :) And he seemed to like the name.

My cats name is Ren, his name comes from the cartoon Ren and Stimpy. I dont know what happened to his brother(Stimpy) as he wasnt at the rescue centre. It get annoying at times cos everyone wants to spell it Wren! I sometimes call him Rennie as he responds to that more!

I have 4 babies.
Holly was named because she was a Christmas present.
McGhee was named because she's so fat. (Her full name is "Fatty McGhee", but we just call her McGhee.
Moe was named before we got him.
and Miles was named because he was too little when we got him (abandoned), and he cried all the time. I would play Miles Davis albums, and it would put him to sleep almost instantly, still does.
