My sister and I are best friends, I'm 19 and she's 24, what makes us avoid fighting is letting the other one be right, when we used to get mad at eachother we would always write eachother notes -not all the time but if I was really upset with her I'd write her a note, sometimes I wouldn't give it to her and sometimes I would, getting it out on paper is usually a good release of tension and leave it for her to read somewhere random where she will find it though. I know its cheesy but for some reason it has kept us incredibly close. And time apart helps the bond too.. she lives in California now and I live in Michigan and it's hard not to have her around whenever I need to talk to her, I can always call her but, I know the distance makes us just that much closer. So i'm not saying move away haha but the less you see of eachother sometimes the more you appreciate your time with her...

Your question personally struck a nerve with me I am 24 and my sister is 23 we haven't spoken in the last three or four months my sister and I use to be best friends we talked on the phone all the time and were always with one another. One day my sister called me and said she no longer wanted to live with my mom but she couldn't move out on her own because my family totally messed our credit up when we were younger so me being the big sister I am and after working hard to get me credit straight because this was sister and I knew she would never do anything like that to me agreed to get her an apartment in my name we signed the one year lease and she started off paying the rent ok late but it was getting paid then she decided she was going to move me not keeping up with her lease just thought her lease was up and then come to find out she skipped out on the lease three months early and hadn't paid her rent in two months I didn't find this information out until one day I was sitting at my desk I and in walks the sheriff department with garnishment papers and that's when I found out those apartments were suing me for almost 9,000 still to this day I haven't gotten an apology or even an explanation so you see the situation with your sister could be worse.

Are you a responsible person? Is she just playing mother?

I'd get some direct answers from her about her role with you.

Tell her you love her, but don't like how she's been treating you, and be specific. If she refuses to treat you the way you need to be treated and continues to do what you dislike, avoid her. Not everyone gets along with everyone else, especially in families.

Blood is NOT thicker than water sometimes.

I have the same problem and i don't know .
they should care about us they should let us speak and they shouldn't get mad at us 4 doing something that they wanted 2 do its hard being a sister but its also great sometimes so my only advise is 2 don't give up
cuz there r others in the same situation like me

Peace in the wourld

i have a lot of problems with my sister. we find it REALLY hard to get along and argue a lot. the best thing to do is to get some space, and try to avoid situations where you might be irritated by one another. you should talk to her nicely about how you feel. and if she deliberately tries to irritate you and you act annoyed, this might spur her on to annoy you all the more. it might seem like a babyish thing but it's true! i hope it works out

Just do what she does to you right back at her. But if that doesn't work try the silent treatment.
