I am turning 16 and i am wondering what car would make a great first car. I am looking for something $7000 and under. If anyone could help me out here and give me some advice on what cars make good used cars. Thanks.

Statistically, new teen drivers are the safest in large, family sedans. For the amount you wish to spend, you might get the most for your money with a Buick Lesabre. You can check Ebaymotors.com and Autotrader.com to see what is available.
The most practical used cars for a first time owner are a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic. Both have long useful lives, are reliable, and get good gas mileage.
How times have changed! I bought my first used car, a 1952 Chevy 4 door sedan, for $100.00. My mother was not happy. She thought I spent too much.

The choice is up to you however to make sure you get a good one take a friend who has some knowledge of motor vehicles when you get ready to buy. Check the following things:
1. Millage
2. Take a look at the engine. (Check condition and fluid levels)
3. Look underneath for leaks. If it's dripping oil after you test drive it - FORGET IT! You are going to have problems.
4. See how it feels and sounds when you test drive it.

A import vehicle, you can save money on gas and almost get away maintenance charge on them. Most will require a oil change.
