I have the chance to subject myself to drug testing trials in my county. For 23 days i recieve a tablet every other day, for 23 days, (i might get a placebo drug) and i have to live in the centre for the time, and at the end i recieve £3000. I have life insurance that would cover this, and i really need the money.
My neighbour has been doing these trials for 13 years and says that there has never been any problems.
WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD DO? I have to decide on Tuesday.

How bad do you need the money? People do drugs trials all the time with little or no effect but since the Elephant man trial everyons a bit more wary and that includes the drugs companies.
I would say its probably never been more safer to do it, more safety checks in place etc.

Just because your neighbour has been doing it for years without noticeable effect doesn't mean anything. I have friends who do this, and you have to pick the trials that you get involved with very carefully.
The fact is that there have been deaths during drug trials. The drugs are tested on animals first, but humans react differently to animals. That's why the drugs also have to be tested on humans before they are released.
There's a 50/50 chance you;ll get the placebo, so the odds are that you'll be o.k.
Its up to you to decide whether the money is worth the risk.

Chose a trial that doesnt involve taking drugs. We all saw what happened at the 'elephant men drug trial'. There are trials that look into nutrition etc

think of the testing that has been in the news, those men nearly died, and now are facing cancer and have only a few years left to live.
ok i know testing is needed but is it worth all that hassle. talk it over with your family and get their opinion, they should have knowledge of what your doing incase something does go wrong

Drug testing could have very adverse effects. Are you willing to cope with the consequences, what ever that might be?

I have heard of one test that caused people problems, so it isn't risk free. I would do it though!
