A lot of people have large bones or muscle mass or whatever. You're the exception to the weight-height charts, and be proud! Many girls would die for your figure. If you think you look great (and you also get compliments), then hell with the charts. Lolz.
Now and then,

You are only a tad overweight as far as the BMI scale is concerned. However if you are fitting into a size 6, have great curves and a flat stomach, I can't see the point of dieting to fit into some standard requirement. BMI takes no account of muscle mass and it sounds like you may have a lot of muscle. This can often be the reason you have a higher BMI, but a small clothes size. If this is the case, you have no reason to lose weight, as you may well be healthier than someone with a lower BMI and higher body fat. Take care and please don't worry : )

I have the same problem. I am 5'2" and weigh about 145lbs. The doctor told me I was very obese, not moderately, very. When I was young I weighed between 112-118lbs. I remember in high school there was a girl the same height as I, and build. I weighed 112, and she weighed 143lbs. She was not fat. We were both about 5'31/2". The teacher said although some people are small they have heavier bones. All I know is my nutrition teacher told us, that if you do not have a lot of abdominal fat, you are not overweight. She said the charts are average, but actually not very acurate to the general population. Don't worry if you don't have weight around you waiste, you are fine.

If you're asking medically - as far as being healthy - you may have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, back problems or other trouble later on if you stay at your current weight. The height-weight charts are for health reasons. If you're comfortable with how you look make sure to take care of your health, (get check-ups regularly, eat well, exercise...) and then don't worry about it.

145 pounds for a 5'3'' is considered to be overweight. With your height, you should fit in a size 2 or a max. of size 4. The weight charts are correct. Try avoiding greasy food or food that are high in sugar. Exercise regularly and good luck!

The truth is overweight is measured by your body mass index or BMI. It is calculated by multiplying your current weight by 700 and then dividing by your height in inches and then dividing that number by your height in inches again. A person is overweight with a BMI of 25-30. A BMI of over 30 indicates obesity.
A person's desireable body fat increases with age.

Maybe in a text book sense you are.. but you probably look fine. I am 5'11 and they say a guy should be like 168 pounds or less. I am 185 and look like I am in great shape. So it really depends on how you fill out and what kind of shape you have. If you were over 160 you owuld probably be getting overwieght for that height.

Maybe you are looking at the wrong chart!! This one tells you the ideal weight for three body frames! And for a large framed woman you would fall right at the end of the NORMAL range!!!
Check it out...... http://www.weight-chart.org/
But...always remember if you feel like you look good you do! People who are overweight usually feel that way!

The currently-accepted method of determining one's ideal body weight is via the Body Mass Index (BMI):
At 5'3" and 145, your BMI score is 25.7.
BMI Categories:
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
So, you're in the "overweight" category, but not by much. Some adjustments to your diet plan and level of exercise should bring you down into the normal category in short order.
Good luck!

Yes, the standard weight to height ratio is: 5' 100pounds, and any more inches times 5 plus together, so in your case is 3x5 =15 pounds, the perfect weight is 115 pounds for you. But if you feel good about yourself, that is important. If you like to reduce some pounds, you can try to eat multiple small amount meal and soup also helps.
