men think it's "pretty". it's sexy for them to think about two girls doing it. since it's still pretty much a male-oriented society, they don't bother them as much. also, since it doesn't involve anal sex and therefore was not strictly forbidden in the bible, i guess it seems more "right". another reason is that many people, when they think about lesbians, they don't think about sex - they don't know how they have it, so they think that they just cuddle. with men, you know exactly how it's done, and many seem to think it's "dirty" or "vile".
those are the main reasons.

Women tend to be more comfortable around each other regardless if they are gay or straight. We can kiss & hug each other with out it being romantic and it's acceptable. It's a little harder for gay men because men see showing affection as a sign of weakness...
Also no body wants to think of anything going up their butt...Sorry no offense to any gay or lesbians...

Because guys think that other people would think they are gay if they accepted gay people as normal, but they think it's okay to accept lesbians. And women aren't afraid to show what they feel, so they accept everyone.

I think it has to do with what is considered 'normal' for same sex relationships. Women are already allowed to be more affectionate than men to others of the same sex and crossing traditional sex roles is more negative for men.
In my opinion, though, I always thought if more men were gay and less women, it would make those of us who were still straight men more attractive due to the imbalance. Of course I have always looked at things from a different perspecive...

lesbians are gay.....but if you meant gay men...then you could be right. It does seem as though it is tolerated more to see 2 women together than to see 2 men together....maybe it has to do with the "every mans dream come true"...of seeing 2 women together......I dont know.

Because men are terrified- they think every gay guy wants to hit on them aggressively. It's a personal safety thing.

two women together intimately is a beautiful thing, both men and women alike can relate to that, right? just picture in your mind, two men together intimatly, that's gross, barbaric, absolutly mid evil!! yuk!! of the two, which is more socially acceptable to you?

hot lipstick lesbians may be more accepted. But big butch lesbians are not.
