Two months ago I was involved in some sort of incident in another state (LA county, to be exact). Anyways, there was always a 1% possibility of an arrest warrant. Like I said, it's been two months, and I haven't heard anything from the police or anyone (they have my contact information). Last week I called LA county courthouse to see if I have an arrest warrant -- just in case, you know? They said nope. I made sure to ask them if it was in all of LA county, they said nope. But should I call again (one week later)? Do you think anything would have changed in a week?

Or am I just paranoid?

You didn't specify what you did. Did you already appear in Court or did you just leave the area? I'd contact the police agency that has jurisdiction where the incident occurred. They can tell you if a warrant has been issued for your arrest. Some police agencies will call the wanted person to see if they will surrender themselves without the police going after them. That's the best thing to do....it looks better to the judge.

Call the police directly on a non-emergency number.
Or alternatively go directly to the police station to ask/give yourself up.

A friend in a similar situation thought he was in trouble for drinking at a college party with someone under 21 he called the police and showed up at the station in order to avoid constantly looking over his shoulder or the cops in his tiny town with nothing better to do kicking in his door at night. Both times they said no warrant existed. Then a few weeks later a detective showed up at his work and just talked to him saying they had just issued him misdemeanor tickets for his crime and that if he just paid the tickets it would be fine so he did and nothing very bad ever came of it.

They did tell him that if a warrant had been issued they would have been trying to catch him immediately and would have told him when he called.

yes, most definitely. that way you won't have this on your shoulder. also why don't you write down the name of the officer that you have talked to for future reference. take down the date, time and whom you talked to and keep it as a record just in case something come up later on. that way you have all the info and you could from there. better be prepare now and be safe than sorry.

Yes I would call again, but I would wait another week. Making it a total of 2 weeks. This could be serious business, you should always double check!

Let it be. If they issue a warrant, you'll know. I hope you have an attorney lined up, just in case.

Paranoid......if you're overly concerned don't call again next week - give it a month or so then call. if not then, let it go
