My cat keeps getting into fights and it seems that he loses. He has very large cuts behind his ear and on his front paw. They are massive in size and he keeps ripping them open. They ooze alot and he's had them for almost half a year now. I can't take him to the vet because of the prices but I would like to doze my cat so I can atleast disinfect the wounds.

I cannot afford my own medication much less a visit to the vet. So I have no choice unless I don't need food next week.

that is too bad that your cat has to suffer. You should not try to give your cat anything over the counter. sounds like the only way to help your cat is to take him to the vet and then KEEP HIM INSIDE

There must be something you can do to find the money to take your cat to the vet. Give something up, get a job.
This cat needs to be seen, and have his wounds treated. AND he needs to be neutered. Neutered cats do not get into fights nearly as much as those who aren't - there's no interest in female cats in heat. And, if he's neutered, he's not contributing to the HUGE problem of unwanted kittens each season.
What do you think that tranquilizers would do? That other cat, or those other cats out there will still be there, and still see him as a threat. Sedated, he'll be dead!
And, lastly, keep your cat in the house! Cats who live outdoors live MUCH shorter lives than indoor cats, because they don't fight with strange cats, don't get run over by cars, beat up on by dogs, or caught and tortured by some awful sick person.
You took on the responsibility for this cat's care when you claimed him. Now do the responsible thing. Take him to a vet where he can get proper care, and be neutered.

My gosh this cat needs to see a vet Today. Not wait untill you get a job. These bites cuts are infected they need a antibiotic. Make a payment arrangement with your vet. Whos does your cat get into fights with? Are you letting him run around loose outside. if yes then keep him inside. hes sick now and any more bites and wounds will probably be the death of him..

And again thanks for not being prudent enough to have money aside to treat your animal, who is in pain and suffering, likely to have infections or to have contracted diseases from your not taking adequate care of him!
You probably haven't neutered him either which is the most important step you can take to protect him from this happening again.
I am willing to bet you have a high-speed internet connection, cable TV, a cell phone etc. and yet you are not willing to pay a vet who has spent four years in college and another four years in vet school the price he must charge to run an office with a lot of personnel, his training and experience which he makes available to you especially in emergency situations like what you are facing now.

You can try something like neosporin, an antibiotic cream, but if he's been infected for this long chances are that won't work. Keep this cat in, he's obviously not ready for prime time, LOL.

You remind me of those stupid people that buy pitbulls and lock them in closets to make them fighters.
You can make a payment plan for the cat btw. If you can't properly care for the poor little boy then be humane and bring him to a no kill shelter.
In the future please do not get another pet.

Your cat has abscesses that are not healing and needs antibiotics NOW. Get it to a vet. And you need to get him neutered so he will quit fighting to try to get the female!
