"Thou shalt not bear false witness." (lie)

Yesterday I asked what the penalty for owning a Bible is in Saudi Arabia.

Moolsims came out of the woodwork and said there is no penalty. I was given a great link that answered my question. Here is the truth...

The public practice of any religion other than Islam, including Christianity and Judaism, the presence of churches, and open possession of Christian religious materials are outlawed in Saudi Arabia.

Sadeq Mallallah (or Malallah, 1970-1993) was a citizen of Saudi Arabia. In September of 1993 he was beheaded in Qateef for the crime of owning a Bible.

In Islam it is permissible to conceal the truth under certain circumstances.

The term is al-taqiyah ( التقية). Al-Taqiya, from the verb Ittaqu, means linguistically dodge the threat. It is usually translated as dissimulation. It is based on Qur'an 3:28 and 16:106 as well as hadith, tafsir literature, and juridical commentaries. This is also called "kitman".

From Dr. Walid Phares. See website below:
"In the early years of the Islamic conquest of the Arabian peninsula and in the Fatah (Arab-Islamic invasion and conquest of the upper Middle East and the outside world), a Muslim concept was devised to achieve success against the enemy (non Muslims), Al-Taqiyah. Al-Taqiyah, from the verb Ittaqu, means linguistically dodge the threat. Politically it means simulate whatever status you need in order to win the war against the enemy ...
According to Al-Taqiyah, Muslims were granted the Shar'iyee right (legitimacy) to infiltrate the Dar el-Harb (war zone), infiltrate the enemy's cities and forums and plant the seeds of discord and sedition. These agents were acting on behalf of the Muslim authority at war, and therefore were not considered as lying against or denouncing the tenants of Islam.

They were "legitimate" mujahedeen, whose mission was to undermine the enemy's resistance and level of mobilization. One of their major objectives was to cause a split among the enemy's camp while downplaying the issues related to Islam ("Oh, I am not religious." "Oh, that is not Islam, you are mistaken, there is so much misinformation." "Oh, it is in the interpretation." "Brother, Islam is all about peace and love...
the multiplying Islamic community (due to illegal immigration, paper marriages, religious visas granted to the religious men) attempts to pass itself off as "peace loving" and patriotic. In their own circles, the same community will liberally and violently denounce America, the West and its values (freedom, individualism, secularism, capitalism, scientific materialism, benign rehabilitation of criminals, prevention of cruelty against animals, women and gay rights)...

It (taqiyah) is done to prevent new converts from seeing the real face of Islam; at least until their faith or mental conditioning is strong enough to make them turn against their own country and people.

Is taqiyah praciced only by Shia Muslims or is it practiced by Sunni Muslims as well?
Famous Sunni scholar, `Allamah Wahidu 'z‑zaman Khan of Haydarabad (India) says: "Taqiyah is proved from the Qur’an, "except when you have to guard against them"; and ignorant people think that taqiyah is something peculiar to the Shi'as, while it is allowed in the Sunni faith also at times."
Allamah Wahidu'z‑Zaman Khan, Anwaru 'l‑lughah, Bangalor ed., para 20, p. 84.

Sunni Muslims agree that taqiyahis permissible in jihad against the disbelievers (non-Muslims) who persecute Muslims. Politically it means simulate whatever status you need in order to win the war against the enemy. Taqiyah is not permissible toward another Muslim.

As the Prophet said: 'he who keeps secrets shall soon attain his objectives

I lived in Saudi Arabia for 10 years. I have witnessed what they did for person with pornographic magazines, lewed pictures and the Christain Bible or any Christian religious article for that matter.
There is an All faith Church inside Aramco Complex both in Jeddah and Riyadh which is inside American service camp and they allow it. Outside the complex is a different situation. You just have to have it at your own risk.
I believe there is no written law or penalty against it because internationally they would like to present an image that will not jeopardize their relationship with their friendly countries that have business relations with them.
The sad thing is those they assign as religious police are the ones making the laws themselves and punishment are oftentimes more than they do to a criminal specially if you are from the third world countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Philippines, rural India, Pakistan and other countries who they think does not have the power to implicate them except USA, Britain, Germany, France, Australia. Japan, Korea and other rich Eurpean nations. In many areas, I find them more powerful than the regular police and even some members of the royalties.
My only question is how was Sadeq Maallah caught for carrying a Bible when only a Muslim can be a Saudi citizen. Was he trying to convert to Christianity and recruiting other citizens to do so? If that is the case, Qateef (Khatif) is a place of Sheite Muslims (the Royal Family are Sunnis) and this people will normally consider that as rebellion. He may have been charge with reason other than just carrying a Christian Bible. That is how they can claim they do not lie.

certain they do even if there are 3 different variations of the ten Commandments in wording: the Jewish, the Catholic, and the Protestant even if the meanings are an analogous. for instance: Jewish: i'm the Lord your God who has taken you out of the land of Egypt. Catholic: I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not produce different gods as well me. Protestant*: You shall don't have the different gods yet me. As for the Muslims, certain. There are far more beneficial than the finished 10 Commandments (in accordance to my recognize-how, theory i'm not a Muslim) exist interior the Noble Quran than interior the Bible. even if not each and every regulation interior the Bible is followed in Islam. P.S. i'm hoping you at the prompt are not likely to construct this theory of Muslims have Commandments/regulations (some that are reminiscent of the Jewish and the Christians commandments) and they destroy them like the Christians have carried out .... because which may be racism.

Interesting, and tell me, why do you care? It's Saudi Arabia, last I checked it's their country. If they wish to behead someone for this, so be it. I don't approve of it but I don't live nor do I intend to so why should I care. If Christians wish to proselytize in a country they know is hostile to them it begs the question.......are they fools or are they trying to be martyrs? either way, ultimately each of us make choices, he chose to break whatever law they had and paid the price that is appropriate within Saudi society, like I said, I may not approve but it's not my country.

That is very disturbing, but what faith incourages its adherents to carry explosives into a group of innocent people and destroy them all, is it a religion or a fanaticism. What god lusts for the death of innocents.
