Are you a rastafarian?

Because that's the only "religion" i know of that doesn't frown down upon smoking up.

And...you haven't harmed anyone but yourself. Or at least your brain cells are defenitely getting fried.

And you don't bomb Americans? What about all other nationalities? Do you bomb any of them?
Just a joke.

I just think it's funny you're comparing terrorist attacks to smoking up and getting high.

And it's illegal because it makes many people dysfunctional. They don't act the same. They can't drive. They can't operate very well. It's just not smart to have legalized so everyone can be walking high.

I do think it should be legal in terms of medicinal benefits though.

Rastafarian?

It shouldn't be illegal, but at some point a long time ago people decided it was "wrong". Nowadays, those in power try to say that marijuana leads to other drugs and that is why it should remain illegal. While some users may progress to hard drugs like coke, crack, heroin... I think it is no more than people who drink alcohol. Alcohol is much worse for everyone and it is more harmful and addicitive than weed. I think the only reason it remains illegal is because the government is afraid that if they legalize it, it will be harder to regulate and then there is the question of how it would be distributed. Would the government control it all or would they just legalize it and let companies start producing it... thereby just regulating it like tobacco?

Overall, I agree with you... it should be legalized, but until we all make it an issue it doesn't have a chance... and let's face it... with the war and terrorism going on right now, it is not going to be a big issue anytime soon.

you make it right for other to smoke it, soon young people and others will want to smoke it, therefore; this is why it is illegal in order to keep this problem stabled. However, it does not harm people more than ciggarates, which contain more addictive substances which are harmful for the human body. The other reason why the govt do not legalize it is because they cant control it through a tax. If govt could find a way to tax it and profit from it then u will be able to buy it at any store around your block

I guess I or a small group of people can make up any "religion" we want to justify stupid, illegal or harmful behavior in a effort to escape the penalty for breaking the law. Why is it illegal? Because there are laws against it! Why not get the laws changed and stop hiding behind the "religion" thing.

Fact One: religion and law clash. Stop comparing.

Fact Two: Smoking weed DOES harm EVERYONE, including YOU. yeah, i know you don't bomb Americans(though i'm not an american) but second hand smoke kills people slowly... And since you get most of the bad stuff, it's killing you too.

Fact Three: The ozone layer's getting thinner and thinner because of all the smoke. and again, it harms EVERYONE.

Smoking weed is illegal because many governments receive large amounts of funding from organisations who believe it is evil, or who are themselves producing it. There is no legitimate reason why it should be illegal for informed, consenting adults to smoke weed, and the only reason there isn't greater public support for this way of thinking is that we are told as children by parents, teachers, religious leaders, et cetera that drugs are bad and bad things should be illegal. The fact that it's part of your religion is irrelevant due to the separation of church and state.

First, who has defined this 'religion'? You state that it is your religion, not God's. That is the problem. If it were God's religion and weed did not harm the body, one could and would smoke!

I know you will not believe this, but read James 1:27, "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit the orphans and widows in their trouble, and to to keep oneself unspotted from the world." The last part would keep one from smoking weed.

It is illegal because the society or country you lived in declare it so. Your religion can approve your weed smoking but it is still illegal according to the law. Religion and Law of the country are to separate issues.

Hail Up Rastafari. The Rastas in the Caribbean have tried that line for years; they end up in jail becuase there is a separation between church and state. Ever since God gave decrees on earth, Judah handled carnal authority and Levi--spiritual matters.
You have a problem though--the foundation stone of the rastas--Haile Selassie was a born-again Christian. I met one of his grandsons--also a born-again Christian. I had him on my radio show and you should have heard the rasta men calling all the way from Miami, Jamaica, California etc.
Antigua is the only country I know that because of the contributions of the Rastafarians to cultural development, herbal medicine and agriculture, the government has unwritten laws--they are allowed to smoke their weed on their farms, while they are fishing and during their rock concerts as long as their concerts are not held in the national stadium--NOT IN PUBLIC PLACES. The fines for such are as heavy as for cocaine- exceptionally high.

Boaz.

not everything's right. If my religion said i need to kill 10 people daily, it would be illegal even though its my religion. Smoking weed was made illegal as a government's way of saving you from yourself and bad decisions (harming yourself is as bad as harming others)
