If it's young enough that it can't even walk yet, then it isn't able to digest on it's own. Usually when they are that young, the mother cat licks their tummys and eat they wastes (ew!). So what is suggest is to rub it's tummy in a downward motion until it poops/pees whatever. You don't have to eat the waste ;~), but clean it up. Might want to hold them over a litter box, or the toilet, or a paper towel at least. No garuntees on it working, but it worked on one of my young kitties so it's worth a try. If it doesn't work, you might want to ask a vet. I hate hearing that to, but what else can you do?

I would suggest taking it to the vet and getting advice from him/her. Depending on this kittens age it may need to be bottle fed. In which case your vet can supply you with milk, bottles and instructions on how and when to feed the kitten.
If the cat is older, than it may have something wrong with it's legs or back. Sometimes kittens won't pee or poop for several hours at a time. Your biggest concern should be keeping it hydrated and fed. You can rub it's stomach and wipe its' private parts with a soft cloth to encourage the body to defecate.

Sounds like this kitten may be too young to be away from his mother. Place him/her in a clean litterbox for a few minutes each day and keep your eye on them. Instinctively, they will begin to know what to do. It may take some time, but keep trying. Atleast several times a day if you can.

Take it to a vet. You didn't say how long you have had it, but if more than a day, get an appointment now.
