I have two sons 1 is seven and the other is ten and all summer they have done nothing or its seems to be nothing else but argue and fight, My ten year old has a bit of behavioural problems but now my seven year old has got very aggressive I think its his way of getting his own say against the bigger boy, I also have a 4.5month baby and the atmosphere is not good for her.

Next time they argue, send them to bed for the rest of the day. This is very boring for them, and they will be hacked off and hungry, too. Stick to it---no coming down to watch tv, no little snacks, no coming down for a goodnight kiss, disconnect the computer and take the radio out of the bedroom, and the games.....tell the in the morning that every time they do this, you will do the same thing. they will stop. Cruel to be kind; you have your husband and daughter to consider, and yourself. They have to learn they dont have the right to behave in this manner; leave them, and they will end up being uncontrolable teenage thugs.

There is nothing that I found that worked, and it just gets worse.
I tried everything, when they fought over a game/toy I took it off them for a month, when they fought over a job that needed doing I grounded them, but that just kept them in the house.
I made a point of doing a tit for tat so if they were trouble I would mark it on a board and if they wanted anything (money, lift) the board had to be clear or they didnt get it.
Nothing worked
At all.
Sorry

Oh Girls are worse......

I used this pretty well with my two, but they wereyounger. I sat them down on the couch and told them that they could not get up until the other one gave them permission. They sat on the couch for a long time before they learned how to get along and give eachother permission to get up.

The first few times I had to referee, just so they know the rules. They can say nothing else except to give the other permission to get off the couch.

It's just a thought.....

Some-one else asked a similar question about this a short while ago. I give you the same answer as I gave this other lady (although the pc Police will hate me for saying so) but a clip round the ear or the back of head from you should perhaps remind them who the boss is!!!!

.
YOU take control, and stick to ENFORCING your rules.
Rule #1 When Mom says STOP arguing, it STOPS, or else you will have your activity taken away, and you will be put apart.
This is called the "REWARD" SYSTEM.
YOU are always in CALM control
YOU are the power.
YOU dole out the rules, and the consquences for not obeying.
AND YOU have ready DIVERSE options for them.

Always, always be ready to diversify their activities...it will save lots of time and headaches for you, and trouble for them.
Be confident, they DO want to play TOGETHER...they just need "supervision" on fairness and taking turns.
Their left "wild" clammoring for supremacy is natural, and it is up to YOU to train them to share, or BOTH lose.

Keep this in mind in all things.
They will be better for it, even if they don't get to play with their favorite thing, and you WILL gain more respect and power.
Any parent that gets caught up in wanting their child to be their "friend" has already lost the entire battle. Only worry if your child is learning to share and be fair...when they are grown, and not until about 30 y/o will they become your "friend".

That's a question all us mums are asking ourselves. I think the answer is to try and keep them as occupied as possible. Take them out to the park with a football. Take a picnic, put the baby in her pram and take a book/magazine with you. The fresh air will do you all the world of good.

its simple
2 t.v.s
2xbox360s
keep the games fresh (buy them a new one each month if their good

2 tvs and xboxes make shure that they will not argue over it but if they want to play a game togather they can

keeping the games fresh will make shure that they dont get bord most parents think that a game will stay fresh thats not true

also in the car make shure that they have somethig to do a book or something

oh..talk to Nanny 911!..lol
hmmm...as you said your 10 yr.old has a problem...get him to a "behavioural doctor"..or psychologist..OR give all of them equal attention! sometimes kids do crazy things just to get noticed by their parents! spend more time with them playing..watching movies..etc... also, don't SHOUT and NAG TOO much..it triggers the aggressiveness of some kids (at least for me)...

take also in consideration that it is natural for siblings to fight on a daily basis!

The only thing that will really (hopefully) work is time. My younger brother and I (we are 3 years apart) argued horribly untill our mid 20s.
