...'because the Bible says so' is not a legitimate reason. I do not much care for the KKK or the ACLU, but I respect their rights to act freely so long as they are not impeding anyone else's rights. So how can personal bias against homosexuality be a just reason for not allowing them to marry?

Bobby D: That is an ignorant argument. Marriage is a legal contract...which an 8 year old is not fit to enter into...because of age.

OK, first off that guy who said that gay marriage isn't natural needs to understand that marriage itself is not a natural process itself. It is a social construct and was not handed down by some giant hand in the sky, so that argument won't fly. The fact is that the only reason that marriage between two consenting adult homosexuals isn't allowed in this country is because there is a vein of hatred (and probably fear) that still exists towards gay people that baffles me. I personally love vagina and therefore am not gay, however, if two adults want to express their love for each other by entering into a binding social contract, who am I (or some politician for that matter) to tell them that they can't do it. There is no justification for that denial other than the people in charge of our country are ultra-conservative quacks.

1. The Bible is a legitimate reason

2. God(Jesus Christ) consider homosexuality an abomination. Abomination meaning worst than the rest of the sins mentioned in the Ten Commandments. Unlike everybody else, becuase god cares, not just about our physical bodies, but about our soul. Anything that breaths and has life has a soul or as it was called in Genesis "the breathe of life"; and God would like to see our souls in heaven, so through the men and women of God He reaches out to us.

3.I know some people dont like the God defense, but that is the main and top reason why were aginst it. God created us male and female; He gave the male the penus nd the femal the vigina becuase the purpose, yes purpose, as in there's a reason were given sexual organs; and for us to go against the purpose of why God gave us sexual organs is considered abominable by God. The purpose is to reproduce, NOT just have fun and do whatever the hell we want.

4. Any scientist with common sense or person that uses the brain God gave them along with their eyeballs, should be able to see that our world is created by oppisites. The negative charge is attracted to the positive charge, the cold air mixes and swirls with the hot air to create a twister, the penus in the vigina to nine (or is it eight?) months later produce new life, a new baby. Evan the principals of spin, something spining is made of oppisites;one things going this way the other things going the other way. When this and that meet up and collide with each othr the result is spin, going in circles.

5. God mentioned some certain people that wont see the Kingdom of God, unless they repent and come to God they will end up in the lake of fire. And among this list of people are homosexuals

6. 1 Corinthians 6:9-Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders.

7. Besides it not being natural, God does not recognize homosexual marriage; only the union between a man and a woman.

How about this - Since time immemorial (whew. . .had not used that word for a long long time) marriage has always been between a man and a woman. Since you don't have any respect for a religious back up on this question, take a look at nature - male mating with female. That design ensured the continuation of the species. Then take tradition of hundred of years and you have a society pretty comfortable with how things are. For male and male or female and female to be married is OUTSIDE the design either from religious stance or from an evolutionist standpoint.

Even the body parts are not compatible. While the vaginal wall which are thick and designed and adapted for sexual activity, we could not say the same for the anal lining. It was designed to have ONE WAY traffic.

Oh. . I can go on but this will suffice.

nicely, enable's sidetrack and look at some thing called the "government." Now, the pinnacle of this government replaced into the Republicans, who took maximum of their ideals from the Pope and George W. Bush. Now, considering that Christianity has been so warped over the years to incorporate those couple of very biased statements approximately gay human beings, the Pope advocates against being gay, and hence so does Georgie, and so does the White abode, meaning, particular, so does the the remainder of united states of america of america, aside from Massachusetts. (cling sturdy, men!) In a central authority the place the separation of Church and State replaced into easily ENFORCED, there may be no reason to do some thing like this to gay human beings. yet via fact it rather is not, we are left no longer able to marry or undertake (different than in Massachusetts.)

Other then religous reasons, I have not seen one persuasive legal argument against same-sex marriage.

Marriage, whether "sacred" or not, is a legal contract between two people and the state. The only good legal argument is that the state can chose who to provide the legal benefits to.

However, the state choosing which people can get legal benefits may be violative of the Equal Protection clause. It would not necessarily lead to bestiality or other strange marriages because you can only contract with other people, not animals.

A better fear would be polygamy, but the administrative difficulties with resolving polygamous relations would probably suffice to allow the state to prevent these types of arrangements.

Haven't gay people suffered enough? And now you want them to get married? It's just so cruel...LOL

The very best reason to allow gay marriages is because if we don't, the smart ones will figure out how a gay couple can become business partners as a Delaware corporation, all their assets will belong to the corporation, they will draw a dollar each a year in salary, pay no income tax, and through careful accounting their corporation can avoid taxes too!

There is no legitimate reason. Any simple research will show that the same arguments (appeal to natural law, appeal to divine law, appeal to effect on children, etc.) were made against interracial marriage (by high-level judges and others). It's all just conditioning and fear -- 99.99999% of the human race never questions their conditioning (what they've been taught) so ... we're in for a long haul with this one.

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Romans 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened

.Romans 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

While we are at it lets ask...

Why can't grass be colored blue?
Why can't the sky be red?
Why can't men give birth?

The answer to your question and all of the above is because that's the way God intended it. Let's not redefine the word marriage. Remember, marriage is between a man and a woman so that is why gays cannot marry. If it's not between a man and a women then it is simply a "union" and not a marriage.

Marriage is an issue of state contract law. If the people are of legal age to enter into any other type of legal state contract then it shouldn't be a problem.

Mythology and prejudice shouldn't be a factor.
