Talk to a vet. Careful!!! Goo B Gone is really harsh, and very toxic. If your dog licks himself, he could get sick!

My puppy rolled in a spilled 5 gallon bucket of tar. I used the same two things Goo Gone and Dawn. My vet told me to try Vasoline to soften the tar and then wash with baby shampoo. Good luck, I ended up using scissors and cutting big chunks of tar off. I had a funny looking german shepherd for awhile!

you could attempt peanut butter or vaseline. they are both oily factors that get gum out of hair so per chance they are going to artwork for tar. both are non poisonous to canines if swallowed. If that would not artwork, then there's a tar remover in a black spray bottle that you'll get from Walmart (won't be able to imagine of the call). Ask your vet first earlier utilising it because it truly is meant for use on automobiles. i exploit all of it the time on my vehicle and my canines is ideal there after I do it so i do not see an situation yet verify with the vet first. Then there is continually the scissors.

Although some of the home remedies sound interesting, it seems to me it would be much simpler to just clip/shave the affected areas. You would be absolutely sure it was gone, you wouldn't have to worry about possible side effects. Your dog will look comical for a while, but I would hope you can live with that!

Go to the vet and ask him/her for help. If they can't provide any help, then, go take your dog to the groomers. That will definitely work!!! Good luck!!!
