only if its illegal where you live

2006-08-18 08:52:14 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

It depends on whether you're asking whether it ought to be legal, or whether you're asking whether a 15 year old has the capabilities to do so. IF, and ONLY IF, one of your parents (and hopefully the more mature of the two) is with you in the front seat should a 15 year old be legally allowed to drive. Many have the capability to drive safely in some locations, definitely not in ALL locations, but many seem to lose all their supposed capabilities when mom or dad aren't in the car. I've "been there, done that" on both sides of the debate, and I know clearly whereof I speak. God Bless you.

I agree that it completely depends on where you live. I grew up on a farm and remember helping my grandpa feed the cows at 6 or 7. I would drive (steer) thru the pasture while he would throw hay out of the back. My parents would also let me drive (steer) out on country roads about the same age. I grew up around trucks, tractors, go-karts and mini-bikes. I was getting grandma's car in/out of the garage around 9. By the time I got to H/S and was in driver's ed, I had as much experience as some of the teachers. Later on(after college), when I moved to bigger cities my driving experience came in very handy.

So, in my opinion, if you're 15 and driving that's probably a good thing. Teenager's are the highest category or accidents, not necessarily because of their age, but due to their lack of experience. Keep up the good work ! And remember to ALWAYS be responsible....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck.

No 15 is the perfect age to learn to drive and learning with your parents is probably the best way.

No, farmers let their kids drive when they are 12. But driving in the city is very dangerous.

No. The sooner you learn the better. My daughter is 12 and i have started teaching her to drive. So far it is only in the driveway, but she is getting less scared of being behind the wheel.

wel, legally it is--i'm 15 and don't even have my permit; my parents wouldn't let me drive then ANYWHERE but i do drive in the country. you should at least have your license, not just a permit.
