Does it have its original transmission? If it does, it could easily be on its last legs in a lot of areas inside the engine. I would NOT suggest getting this vehicle without getting it looked at first. If the transmission hasn't been overhauled, then there could be a problem with it and it could die pretty much any time. Take it to a mechanic for a checkup before buying.

Not for any amount of money. The engine is probably about to die and I would think long and hard about purchasing a ten-year-old car. Whether or not a car has highway miles make little difference. This car is on borrowed time as you still have a lot of expensive parts to worry about. The engine, suspension, transmission can break you. Even parts like the drive shafts are expensive to fix too. You mention that it has new brakes, but there are lines that could be rusted and lot of brake parts like the master cylinder that usually don't hold up that long. Most people say it has new brakes and only change the pads.
I own an Intrepid and love it, but this is a newer beast with a new engine. I would pass up this gem and find something a little newer with a lot less miles. You deserve that much and probably will need to spend more than $1300.

As the owner of a dodge, I would say take it to someone to have them FULLY inspect the car first. Make sure they have had all the regular service done on the car like timing belts, regular oil changes, regular transmission flushes. Without that being done, you will have a lot into the car in a short amount of time.
Make sure what happened when the radiator broke also, not sure if the Interepid is similar to the Neon but when my radiator broke, the transmission fluid ended up in the coolant overflow and it nearly killed the transmission but I had noticed the problem within a mile of home, had i driven it longer, the car would be in the junk yard. So definately go over it or have a mechanic go over it CHECK EVERYTHING. And dont expect it to last you 4 years. If you buy it expect it to last a year or so. If you want a VERY reliable car, go for a toyota.

New brakes, tires, and radiator? Sounds like he had some recent problems. Brakes and tires replacement signal alignment problems, and the faulty radiator is obvious. You don't buy new parts for a car you are selling, unless you are trying to hide the wear and tear. A 10 year old car with that many miles! Give him about $600 - $750, cause you will need the rest for repairs. Better yet just get the car and use it as a trade-in; when the dealers will give you like $3,000 for your car...no matter the condition.
Good Luck!

Thats too much $$ for a car with that many miles. It's 11 years old too - stuff WILL go seriously wrong VERY soon if it hasn't already. The maintenance alone on a car that age HAS to be expensive, and the gas mileage can't be all that good.
Look into a Brand New Toyota Yaris (just for fun / comparison) - its about $10,000, gets better gas mileage and has a better warranty and relaibility record than Dodge does (I am not a DODGE hater - My Dad has a Dodge truck I adore, and I considered buying the new Caliber).
I think you can do better. It certainly won't last you 4 years, and wouldn't it be miserable to miss your classes / midterm when it breaks down on you???
I wish you the best of luck!

Definitely worth the risk if it only costs 1300 while most ppl sell theirs for around 2500 to 3000 dollars. If you say it runs like a dream and is like new, I would definitely take the chance and buy it. If in any way shape or form it still has a warranty or the remainder of one, if the engine blows up while you're driving, meh, you can have Dodge get you a new one, or simply pay the.......500 or so dollars to get a new one. Either way, you still pay less than most ppl sell their used Intrepids for.

Hell no! Usually those kinds of cars are halfway to the junkyard already! Plus the car is 10 years old too. Anything that old is trouble. Don't buy into someone elses problems. It may drive like a dream & need "minor" work that could end up costing you the price of the car. You don't want to get stuck going to/from school? Seriously, invest in a "certified" pre-owned vehicle from your local dealership. You will be better off.

Oh H*ll no. The only car I would buy with that many miles is going to be a '67 camero.
Especially if it's a 96. I think they're lying about just back and forth to college.
I wouldn't trust it at all.
