Why are all gays going to hell? People call it an abomination, per the bible. The bible also says people should not eat shellfish, wear mixed fiber clothing, etc. Why aren't these people also an abomination.
Serious Responses Please. I want to understand.

i don't understand. If it is part of the old covenant and not part of the new, then why do we still follow the ten comandments?
If it is a sin, and we're supposed to repent, are people who eat shrimp going to hell? They are breaking the word of God.

So, in order for us all to be saved, we all have to stop eating shrimp and planting different crops in the same fields. This is so illogical.
I'm getting responses that sinners need to repent to be forgiven, but you're missing my question! Why are some passages from the bible taken out and held as being an abomination while others are not? Who decided which standard to judge people? I'm confused as to why there are so many rules people ignore, but then focus on some to damn people to hell.

If these are all part of the old rules we don't have to follow, why do people still cite leviticus for condeming homosexuality?

Don't worry. That is a lie. The Lord doesn't care about your sexuality. He cares about the kind of person you are in your heart.
Leviticus 20:9-- "Any child who curses his mother or his father shall be put to death." Now does anyone with common sense honestly believe that the bible is at all relevant to 2006. I won't kill my child for cursing me in anger. Try using that one as a defense in a court of law. "The bible said I could kill my son when he cursed me". How totally ridiculous it that?
Please ignore the ignorant bigots out there in the world. You can be sure that the Lord loves you and its OK to be who you are. Any intelligent person knows that a persons sexuality is not a choice its just the way you were born to be.

It is not the particular sin, it is SIN itself.
This means that we are talking about a rejection of God's Word. It is a sin to reject the Word of God and to lean on your own understanding.
To be homosexual would mean that you reject where the Bible says that only men and women are to marry and have sex.
Some say, "Well Jesus never spoke against homosexuality." That argument is illogical because Jesus re-enforced what the Bible teaches. That is for a man and woman to marry.
It doesn't matter if you are a drunk, or harlot or whatever. If you continue to be unrepentant of that sin, you will not inherit eternal life.
The good news is that if you do repent, while you may still fight with those desires, you are forgiven and WILL inherit eternal life. :o)

People even pastors explan the Bible according to what they wish their followers to think is the word of God. In true, no body really know for sure that the Bible is not fictional.
The important thing to know is that good moral actions that do not cause harm or afflictions to others are wholesome actions and not sinful. So simply because one is gay in no way condemns one for hell. It is what you do gay or straight, that will determine your entry into hell or heaven.
The guiding principles are as mentioned. You do not really need a religion but an understanding and realization of moral conducts and duties.
Be well.

there are various gay and before gay Christians. purely when you consider which you're a Christian does not advise you will on no account have thoughts like that or be tempted to stay a gay way of life - notwithstanding it relatively is not any diverse than the different sexual sin. we're not meant to have intercourse outdoors of marriage. we're not meant to commit incest. we're not meant to have gay intercourse. we're not meant to lust after somebody we at the instant are not married to. etc. it relatively is a no longer common subject, notwithstanding it relatively is purely yet another of the numerous temptations devil has dreamed up. With God's help, a gay individual CAN get better normalcy. i've got confidence that notwithstanding if a individual has sexual urges in direction of a member of their own intercourse, they are often a Christian. they only would desire to deal with those urges, purely like all different individual has to regulate their sexual urgers in direction of the different intercourse. all of it comes right down to a similar subject. God on no account stated that blue eyes are evil. He DID say that homosexuality is evil. yet, when you consider that He loves each and every individual, he desires to grant us ALL a gamble to repent and stay in accordance to His will. He loves gay human beings. He does not love what they do. Likewise, he loves liars. He does not love what they do. and that i do no longer have confidence that anybody is born gay, to any extent further than a individual is born alcoholic.

OK what makes you gay? It's the action, just like if I being married commit adultery, I'm in the action and have sinned. The old testament is done, in the new testament, Christ came to give us a new life, freedom from these sins, we all sin, every day even in our thoughts or hearts, but by God's grace are forgiven. I in the past could of easily told some one off, that's the dead me, the new me in Christ finds the way to love and be merciful as the Lord has been with me to forgive my sins.

Because those were old covenants made by God and no longer are needed because of Jesus Christ. However it is clear that homosexuality is still a sin through what has been said through out the whole Bible, and that fact that sin is sin and that doesn't change. However Jesus told us that the old covenants such as not cutting your hair and stuff were not applicable to the new covenant he established with us.

In Catholicism, to be gay is synonymous with living a homosexual lifestyle, because in adopting the title "gay," you are allowing that to define who you are as a person. On the other hand, there are people who struggle with SSA (Same-sex Attraction). This is not sinful, because it shows that the person, while fighting these tendencies, is not giving in to them or allowing them to dominate who he or she is as a person.
According to this set of definitions, it is a sin to be gay, but it is not a sin to have SSA. According to the more popular definitions, it is not a sin simply to be gay, but it is a sin to engage in sexual acts. Regardless, the Church NEVER says that anyone is in Hell, because such is a condemnation, and the Church does not condemn people.
If you or someone you know is struggling with SSA, there is a Catholic support group called Courage which even Pope John Paul II has blessed and spoken very highly of for their ordered view of sexuality and support of those facing the challenge of SSA while trying to maintain a Christian faith. Visit www.couragerc.org for more information.

The Bible does not teach that all who delve into homosexual behaviour will not be saved. There are examples of saved homosexuals in scripture (the Corinthians for example). However, it is true that those that God saves he changes so that they will not continue in that lifestyle. Only in that latter sense does the Bible teach that no homosexual person will enter the Kingdom of God.

It is not also an abomination to the bible but to Judaism as well as Islam. The Quran says we are not to engage in homesexual activity. It is a major sin. Plus how would we procreate if everyone was gay? It would be the end of humanity.

Who says they are? Just because someone wrote something down on a piece of papyrus or dried goat skin and then put it in a book a couple thousand years ago, does not make it true. If they had said all people who didn't have blond hair and fair skin must die, (as the Nazis said during World War II) would you believe that too? Of course not. In this world there are many diverse people and cultures. I certainly don't believe in all of their ways of doing things, or thinking, but we all have a right to our own thoughts. As for, "Are all Gays going to Hell?" who knows what is beyond death. My motto is -treat people as I want them to treat me in this life.
