I agree with you, I spent a year in frankfort and I think the europeans do not hate americans. Alot of my friends are married to european women. I loved Germany when I was there.

The general American population is dumb. Its not an attack against the American people but its true. Their education is NOT as good as it is in Europe, most Americans never leave the US and therefore have a peverted view of the world. They believe they are the best because thats what they are told by a totalatarian government who doesn't use force but rather political spin and propaganda to control the masses. What they don't realise is that the US is losing its grip on the world and when the time comes that they are no longer a super power they will find friends are rather thin on the ground.
I think its more a problem with the US government than it is generally the people.

Obilee,
"You are the people where most of the population is overweight and most of the rest killed by shotguns"
That was so f'cking funny! LOL!!!!
Here we are in the USA, either fat or shot by shotguns. What a bloody mess! HAHAHaahaah
"why some europeans(me not being one of them even though the things I wrote might get ppl thinking I am)hate the USA?"
I think you are referring to the French, who are lazy and drunk all the time! ( Just kidding!) lol

I don't know why the perception is that most Europeans are jealous of the US. I think that people are confusing wanting to come here with wanting to be like us. Also, wanting to come here doesn't always mean to live. I think people all over just like the idea of visiting other parts of the world.
We have our problems, and people in Europe have theirs, and they aren't necessarily the same problems.

and this is just one answer. i believe it goes back to when the first british left england and the forefathers there just knew it would be a failure. then came the tax without representation, and this pissed the newcomers off. so they decided to have the boston tea party, when they dumped all the ttea overboard because of the taxation. i believe the british didn't like this at all, so they decided to have the boston tea party, and when they realized the united states was more stable than they thought, and they started losing their brigades, they decided to back off and see how well this new union functioned on its own without the british cooperation and had no choice but to accept them on their own terms, and not as an enemy because the new union was determined to be independent and figured they had nothin to lose. britain was not supporting them finacially. they were supporting themselves. so if the british were or are jealous, its not hurting the U.S. they U.S. says "why can't we all just be friends.!

all I can say is I lived in UK for two years and standard of living was generally worse (but not by much) and the press was pretty anti-american.
Also, do you realize that the crime rate in the UK has been getting worse since guns were outlawed? Guns are not the cause of violence, people are.
don't really see europe and us as that different - both have their strengths and weaknesses

Not all Americans are Christian. Therefore, not all Americans own guns or believe that we have a right to kill 'in gods name'. Etc, etc etc. Those Europeans that answered this question assume that all Americans are of the same faith and beliefs.
