Hi pretty girl,

techinically the definition of a bastard is a child that is born out of wedlock (so outside of a marriage relationship).

However, it's not a very good thing to call someone because it has a very derrogatory slant to it (see dictionary.com).

Two people having a child out of wedlock is not uncommon in this day and age- and most certainly a child should never be punished for that.

Off course the child can grow up to be a very productive and wonderful person. Even in churches there are many single mothers who have had dead-beat dads, and their kids have grown up to be wonderful people. It's how you parent that makes the difference.

As an unwedded couple there are difficulties and for some reason many teens who have mothers who had them out of wedlock, tend to repeat the same thing... their are difficulties but they are overcomeable...

Hope that helps,

Nickster

Yes, that child will still be a bastard if it is born out of wedlock, even if the parents choose not to marry. However, in today's American society, there isn't much stigma attached to it anymore, especially in urban and suburban areas.

Even as recent as 25 years ago, some states were still printing "Bastard" on the birth certificate if the parents were not married. I don't know if any states still do this now, but doubt it since it's offensive.

I know this because a friend of mine was labeled a Bastard on her birth certificate. Her parents are married now, and had more child in wedlock. She is a very good person. Being born out of wedlock does not affect how good or bad the person is.

When you think of the definition then yes the child is considered a bastard being born out of wedlock.
However, Islamic teachings tells us that we either repent for our sins and make it better for everyone. Either you try and work it out with the guy or you separate and stop sleeping with each other if you do not like the consequences. Children are precious and should not be forced to live in a broken home because protection is not used.

The word love denotes a sacrifice. They love each other....(but they are not willing to marry) hmm, is it really love? In modern times it is more acceptable to have children out of wedlock, but in my eyes, it is very selfish. The child grows up thinking there is something wrong with themselves because their parents weren't married. Usually these live in relationships do not last more than a few years, and children take about 18 years to raise.

A woman who says yes to fornication, usually sets herself up for a lifetime of poverty and nonsupport. She usually has very low self-esteem. She at the height of her youth where she would have the most power to demand marriage from her sexual partner; is letting down her future children because she is not willing to provide them an adaquate home.
The welfare ranks are full of unwed mothers by the way. If you care about your children, make the one who sleeps with you, marry you. It will actually make him respect you more.

Yes, children who are born out of wedlock are bastards.

The child is not a bastard if the father acknowledges it as his. And I can guarantee that the parentage of the child has nothing to do with their goodness as a person. I have a great-niece who is the sweetest little girl you can imagine, and I don't think her mother even saw the father again after she told him she was pregnant.

Technically, the child would be a bastard.

Can the child still be a 'good person'? Yes, If memory serves me correctly onthe point presently, Jepthah (? spelling) was a son of a questionable parentage.

These days, the word "bastard" is rarely used to describe a child born to unmarried parents, even though that's its definition.

The word also can refer to things that are fraudulent, not genuine, imitative, of an irregular design, and so on.

In most English speech, however, it used as slang to describe someone who is considered meanspirited or disagreeable.

Romans one million:26 and 27 obviously talk of similar-gender sex via both adult men and females, the purely passage interior the hot testomony that does so. Rom. one million:18-32 speaks of Gentiles (heterosexuals) who might want to and must have prevalent and served and given with the aid of God yet would not, so God gave them up and enable them do in spite of they had to do, and that led to degrading and shameful acts, mutually with similar-gender sex. it truly is amazingly a lot a moot element, yet Paul isn't itemizing sins for which God will condemn all and sundry, he's itemizing sins that take position because people have forsaken Him. those are acts dedicated via those who've grew to develop into remote from God and so develop into "ate up with interest." each and absolutely everyone recognize that those who forsake God and supplies you themselves over to lustful residing--gay or heterosexual--stand condemned via the Bible. This passage is speaking about those who chosen to forsake God.

Yes, by definition of the term bastard. But it's an ugly term, at best. No child should be labeled as such.
