My daughter and I used to have so much fun with this. For "J" day I took our puppy Jazz in to the classroom (she also had a box of Jello in her bookbag just in case I didn't make it in). For "R" day I brought in a batch of baby rabbits.
"A" - does she have a pet whose name starts with A?
- What about a favorite person whose name starts with A?
- Animal starts with "A".
- If she takes in a food such as apple she could take in apple slices and some dip to share with the class, or Angel food cake or Apricots, etc.
- You could print off this whole Yahoo Answers page with this question and the answers...Answers starts with "A".

Does her classroom have a monthly or weekly theme? If they do, I suggest that you find something that starts with the letter A that fits with the classroom theme. It will help reinforce classroom topics, and your daughter may feel she has more information about the subject. If they don't have a theme, have her share something about autumn since the season is coming soon. She can share picture of trees and leaves and even bring in some different colored leaves to show seasonal changes.
Do some role playing with her before her she shares. It will help her to gain some confidence before speaking in front of the class and give her some ideas on what to say about her sharing.

Arsenic?
Atom bomb?
Alligator?
I used to hate them. We call them word tables over here. I'm sure the teachers use them to judge the parents.
Something safe, but with some thought behind it. All the unfit mothers will go for apple because it is easy.
What about Abstract Art? It's something the children can do afterwards as well.

That's hard to say without kowing what you have to give your child to take.
An Apple just won't do...
a toy that starts with an a like alligator...
or an "alphabet puzzle"
I'd just go through all the toys and find one that starts with an A - or make a stop at a store this weekend to buy one.

I don't know where you live, but one art class my kids attended had them make acorn faces (buy the eyes to glue on and a piece of yarn for the mouth). She might not have enough time, but the class could do them as a project together. Wow. That's really an odd one!!

Yes, I have a suggestion. Rather going on search engines, and finding you something I would love to suggest you one thing.....
Leave this topic on her.......Don't help her. Let her use her own imaginations....Worst come to worst she will not win BUT if she will use her own imaginations, in long run she will come out as winner...........love her, support her BUT also let her be her own judge buddy !!
