If the pet owner didn't have the funds to pay the full bill, which should be about $1000. The dog needs to have new ear canals made and it's an expensive operation. There are sites to help people but haven't found one for pets. Thank you.

that's being kind of retroactive, isn't it? Why don't you check out a pet health insurance site, like http://www.petinsurance.com/ depending on the age & breed of the dog, coverage is really honestly really inexpensive, and depending on your particular plan, covers not only surgeries but also meds & regular vet trips.

I work for a vet and I have never heard of such a thing. I know that sometimes you can find a university that trains vets and they will sometimes do it for a lower cost but I don't know of anything else. Since you dog is already hurt it is too late to get insurance, they wouldn't cover it. Good luck.

I have never heard of this. I dunno why but I think this is a scam- I've had deaf animals before, and I sure wouldn't pay 1000.oo bucks.

True story- had a white cat named "Snow" (Yeah I know, real orginal name eh?) and Snow was totally deaf- its a genetic disorder carried in the coloring gene.

Anyhow- we could vacuum the cat cause she couldn't hear the motor.

One day, a huge Great Dane- no kidding, I could have ridden this dog as a kid- came up started barking within 3 or 4 inchs of the cat- Dad and I looked in abject horror as we thought Snow was going to get mauled. The cat just looked at him like "Dude, your breath stinks, leave me alone" and the Great Dane wandered off!

Darnest thing I'd ever seen.

I've never heard of this kind of site. If you can't pay for a dog's vet bill, then you should hand it over to a shelter or put him or her down. It's the humane thing to do. It's not worth putting yourself in debt because of a dog. I love dogs and I have always owned one, but I'm a single income person and know that if I can't afford my dogs vet bill, I'd probably have to put him down. I know it sounds cruel and harsh, but I'm just being honest. Don't attack me for my opinions.

my cat had an abdominal obstruction, and the bill came to $1200.00 it was a very exstensive surgery. He made it through fine. But we did NOT have the money for it. We set up payment plans with them. Maybe you should try asking if they will do that.
Good luck

I wish there were. I've already had to come up with $15,000.00 to save my dog.
