I have terrible credit and got student loans through Sallie Mae and Great Lakes... i signed up for them through the Fafsa web site.

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

you have to fill out alot of stuff, but you should get it.. my credit is AWFUL and i managed to get enough to pay for school and live off of (lived cheap)

it may be too late for fafsa for fall, but may be tie for winter.. but most liekyl you will have to wait till fall 07.

The only student loans you can get where "they" do not look at the credit score are the Stafford and Perkins Loans.

Every University and whatnot offers the Stafford loans

Not every University offers the Perkins Loans, so you would have to ask about that.

If you have had a steady job for at least two years, you can apply for what is called a "Private Student Loan" with a co signer who has good credit.

If you cannot do any of the things I said, then you have to figure something out. You should, ideally, have a job, and maybe you can work out a payment plan with the rest of your tuition.

Also, you might want to see if you can obtain a "Parent Plus Loan" from a parent or even maybe a grandparent.

Be realistic and try to work hard.

Financial Aid is, first and foremost, to be for your schooling. The manner in which you pay your "living expenses" is not really applicable to financial aid. You have to see the Financial Aid for what it is.

You can get a student loan through the college your going to. I'm surprise they didn't give you that info while you were signing up for financial aid.

Here's mine:
Student Loan Finance Corporation
105 First Avenue Southwest
Aberdeen, SD 57401-4173
1-800-592-1270

I don't live in SD. You will need a bank account. Just go back to the college and ask for a student loan. It's not based on your credit but you will have to pay it all back.

I have bad credit and I have several student loans. (I am getting ready to graduate). I apply for loans when I fill out my fasfa, every year. One is a federal subsidized and one is a federal unsubsidized. The longer you have been in school, the more you can borrow. You need to ask at the financial aid office of the school you attend. I go to a private university and my tuition is around $3500 per semester, and I usually end up with $3000 left over for my expenses. There are also several other programs that your school should know about or you can look online.

I know that you could get a student with the college that you've attend or you could go to Chase Credit Card Student loan. all you have to do even if you don't have any credit you could ask for one if you have some one such as your parent to co-sign. all they ask for is that you have a job for 2 years or more if you want the loan by yourself, otherwise they ask for co-sign. all the student loans ask for that. there are a lot of loans out there that you could get . go to your local credit union bank or ask your financial aid administration. they will be able to give you a list of loans. good luck!!!!

I found a solution that worked for me. It might work for you too.

I had some pretty serious credit problems…some were not my fault and, I guess, a few were. I listened to the so-called “experts” who said they could fix my credit report and I spent money I didn’t have. I didn’t have any luck trying to get my credit report fixed.

I remember paying for the services that these Credit Repair Companies had to offer. The companies told me that they could have negative items removed from my credit reports without any problem, Yeah, right. This did not happen at all. Most of the companies wanted to charge me a set up fee anywhere from $39 to $299 for their services. Not only did they charge this set up fee, most of them also wanted to charge me from $29 to $49 monthly while they “attempted” to repair my credit report. These companies offered no guarantee that their services would actually work and, believe me, they didn’t.

I was about ready to give up when I found a lady who had been through the same thing and who had found a solution. She figured out how get all the negative items removed from her credit report within 3 months without paying anyone a penny. She developed a fast, easy, step-by-step process that she guarantees will work for everyone. She sells the complete plan with all the help and instructions for $47.00.

I know what you are thinking…”another $47 down the drain,” and that’s kind of what I was thinking too. But, I figured that since she offers a 100% money back guarantee I had nothing to lose.

Well, I tried it and it was amazing. I got all of the negative items removed from my credit report and my credit score went from 553 to 715 in only 3 months. All I can say is that it worked great for me. I suggest you check it out. You can always get your money back if it doesn’t work for you. If it works even half as well for you as it did for me you will never even think about asking for a refund.

You need a cosigner.... If you have already applied for FAFSA then you will need to go to a bank or try to get scholarships..... Try the scholarship office at your university
