Most religion is based on faith. The faith that you were brought up to believe you, will believe, and pass that belief to your children (perhaps).

Problem: after thousands of years since the original writings in the original dialect. How mush is mis-read or mis-interpreted by others and ourselves.

I agree completely. I'm an atheist, but my goal is not about putting down another's beliefs. I only get testy when they insist that I must believe the same or when they try to get the government to force their beliefs on everyone else.

If everyone was as tolerant as you then there would be no problem. I am tired of religion putting people down.

Im with you girl. Let the religion bashing stop. Maybe they are afraid of God so they attack him to make themselves feel better. I feel for people who do not believe in a higher power. What direction do you have in your life without the belief of a higher being? Thanks Girl!

I am too. And I think it's hilarious how the people busy putting down religion act like they're doing it in response to something that religious people are doing. Just hilarious.

LOL I think the fundies are coming in here and giving a thumbs-down rating to everyone who answers this question affirmatively. In any case, I COMPLETELY agree with you. I think this should be a place to LEARN about each others' spiritual paths, not demean them.

I totally agree. If people don't want to believe, that's their problem, but they don't have to criticize others for their beliefs.
