There is no biblical prohibition of any kind against masturbation.

I am an expert on the bible.

And, one small reason I am an atheist.

The bible is a book of mythology.

The bible relates a story about a guy named Onan who "spilled his seed" (coitus interruptus) after God had told him to impregnate his brother's wife. God killed him for "coitus interruptus" (withdrawal), not masturbation.

Well, first off, I don't think you go to Hell just because of one offence. Haven't you ever lied? Because lies are on the list of sins, whereas I see nothing there about masturbation... interesting. Maybe you should worry about lying first...

God should go to hell. He's the one who watches people masturbate because he sees and knows everything.

Life without masturbation is like a sundae without ice cream.

Don´t let ignorant or nasty comments deceit you. Of course people who masturbate will go to hell. We have to get rid of that religious and legalist ideology that if the Bible does not say this or that it is allowed. You have to make a correct and harmonic interpretation of the whole Bible.

Jesus said This is the comandment, that you walk in love, this is love, that you keep the comandments.

We have to understand that God's comandments are not arbitrary orders to be followed by mindless people. Behind each comandment there is love in the widest sense of the word (do not confuse it with passion).

In other words when God is giving you his comandments what he is expecting from you is that you have love for him, love for any other being and love for yourself.

In this context, when he forbid any kind of sexual immorality, of course masturbation was included. Why? not because God is a dictator that does not want you to have sexual pleasure, but because God knows how harmful masturbation is for your mind although you may not notice it.

Sexual desire is not bad in itself. It is good and God gave it to us to enjoy it WITH ORDER. And said order is with your husband or wife (depending on whether you are man or woman) and within marriage (and once again said order is not for our repression, but for our blessing, but that is another issue).

See how God is always triying to lead you to the best for your life. If you only let yourself go for what you want to do, for the flesh, you will be a slave of your passions, you will have no self-control and before you realize it you will begin to surrender to things that will denigrate yourself more and more.

Now, you have to bear in mind that God is always reaching his hand to help you to overcome any tempation. Hence, if you decide to masturbate is just because you want to do so and you refuse God's help. In orther words it is your decision not believeing in God, not believing in the help he offers you and do just what it pleases you.

Therefore, as you will surely notice, it is not a terrible God that will send to hell a poor person that "only masturbates". NO! It is a person that does not believe in God, a person who decided to please and love him or herself more than God who will be send to hell. By the way, I do not know any other person that is holy but only masturbates.

In other words, if any person does not have the above-cited self-control I assure you that he or she is committing countless sins everyday, although he or she is in such spiritual darkness that he may not realize it. Then I do not believe that there is really a person that will be send to hell only for masturbation.

I insist, do not let the world deceit you. It is written the desire of the eyes and the desire of the flesh will pass away, but he who does God's will will remain forever.

Think, think, think. It will do you good to think!

If that were true then more than half the human race would go to hell, including archbishops, priests, monks and mulas.

Hey BonnyRogue,

the Bible teaches that there is only one unforgiveable sin and that is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Basically denying Jesus.

Over the years as i've worked with youth- it's a lot more common problem than people would think. It's a struggle and what's important is how they deal with that struggle- do they realize that it's something that displeases God and is their desire to please Him???

i hope that helps...

It's a sin to even think of masturbation.

Matthew 5:29
"But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath commited adultery with her already in his heart."
