I bought a used car with a fairly new stereo and speakers for my son, but the face plate isn't there and the car lot did not have it. How can I find a face plate for it? Please help hate to buy another one, need to spend the money on the motor.

if you know what brand and model it is then you can probably find it on ebay...if you go to best buy or circut city though it will cost you almost as much as a whole new in-dash.

If you are talking about the actual faceplate from a stereo with a removable faceplate (ie the part with the buttons and screen etc) then they have taken it off and put it in the glove compartment or someplace so look around in the car. If you don't find it then go to best buy circuit city or contact the manufacturer.

If you are looking for the piece of plastic that fits around the stereo in the space i the dashboard then go to best buy, ask for the car stereo serviec dept. Then will sell you the spacer that allows you stereo to fit better in the dashboard. This will only cost about $5-10 and they can explain to you how to put it in.

I ran into this problem long time ago. Here's what you'll find when you start looking for face plates. You'll realize the faceplates cost almost as much as the radio they belong to and that you can buy a descent cheap stereo for less money. So I'd recommend buying the $50 radio tape deck and putting the real money into the motor. The radio can always be upgraded later to what your son wants we he has the cash to do it.

You know, I always wondered about this. I had a car towed one time and never returned to me, and I had the "faceplate" so the person who received my car, must have had the same problem. I would suggest using EBay. It wasn't a blankpaut car stereo was it? Blue Saturn '99? That was my ride.
Hey how come nobody uses their real photo on here, and hides behind an avetar. That's just lame! I always keep it real, dawg!

dont try to sover it up, you stole a radio and need a faceplate!! haha, j/k. it would be better off getting a new cd player. face plates you cant just buy at ebst buy or places like that, the only place possible is ebay, but even that would be weird... someone selling just a face plate. sorry, but im pretty sure you wont find one.

Contact the manufacture...however, i still think it will be a hassle, b/c if someone has the radio but not the faceplate, the assumption is that the radio is stolen...

See if the lot can tell you the brand and make, and then go to the website for the manufacturer and see if you can find it as a spare part or something. Can't say much besides that.

it was about $70 5yrs. ago when mine got stolen (its more useful to steal the WHOLE radio). its probably cheaper to buy a new one. you cant be really sure if the one you have even works until you buy a faceplate
