Every cloud has a silver lining.

There is knowledge and lessons to be learned from every action, every experience, good or bad. A loaded or purely hateful question or answer is no different.
Life truly IS what we make it. If you focus on the negative aspects of things, your life will be filled with that aspect. See the silver lining and you will live a life full of joy.

There are of course, varying degrees of knowledge, but nevertheless, it is all there to aid us in our growth. Remember too, there are many children here that do not yet understand things such as this. To them, virtual points and "bashing" others who differ from themselves is simply part of their development. As like a baby cannot realise that snatching the toy from it's friend will cause its friend to cry, such is the way to the knowledge of right and wrong. We are all learning, gaining knowledge every second. Most, simply do not know how to see it.

Use your question to enable you to realise that you have a duty to act as a ROLE MODEL to those who need one.
One would like to assume, you will be a positive one...

You've got a good point. I guess it depends on who is answering. Once I asked a question and yes, it was somewhat of a political/terrorism question. I even worded it "what are your thoughts" --- I gave a synopsis of what was going through my head......OMG --- God forbid I should have an opinion!!! It wasn't even anything BAD!!! Unless I'm in the mood to laugh at someone going overboard reacting to a question, I won't ask anything about politics or religion (well, religion I do sometimes as you don't get bashed toooooo bad on those). Sometimes I laugh and think "get a life" because some answers are totally insane. If the questions are stupid though, I kind of see stupid answers and expect them. I mean like about penis size and crap like that. There are some really stupid questions on here too but that's okay. It's all about different people I guess.

I don't know, that's a good question. I joined to gain more knowledge about the things I needed help with. I soon found that that is not going to happen. So,now I'm just on here to pass time until I get off work.

Unfortunately, I think it's really ALL about points and bashing instead of civilised exposition of ideas not offending anyone in the process. But what can I do about it? Only report half the Y!Answers population for lack of conduct, be it believers or non-believers, I'm afraid.

One hopes and trusts that some people get the answer they are looking for. There are crass idiots out there who think they know it all and others who think they have the greatest sense of humour in the world - it's a pity, but the intelligentsia who take part in Answers will just have to put up with the intellectually deprived morons. Go well, and God Bless!

the internet is filled to the brim with "enlightened" people that love to bash stuff they dont agree with or understand. I've only been around here for a short while but there seems to be alot of bashing.

What happens is that most people here are not looking to be enlightened, they are looking, searching aimlessly for some truth in their small world, that which only affects them.
Those who truly seek enlightenment and knowledge must look inside first, learn all they can about themselves, then the answers come more easily.
God is the source of all knowledge, inspired by your name sake and shown through the life of our Savior, His son, Jesus Christ.
May God keep you in your personal search, guide you and surround you with love always.

If you think you can gain knowledge from this site, well...I don't know what to say to that. You can get opinions based on nothing but belief, but knowledge...in this category...no. If you want knowlege, go to the Philosophy category or the Science category..
