My friend is out of work right now and cannot afford food. He finally admitted to me that he had not eaten in 2 days. I took him a big meal and a nice large Dr. Pepper. All of his favorite foods. I think took him to a club that night, since he has not been out of the house. =]

My high functioning autistic son, three, is sick with the measles this week and had to go to the doctor today (to ascertain this.) It's because he had an immunization about a week ago. Anyway. I took him on a short walk beforehand to help him feel calm, let him look at the trucks and things, holding his hand while he held a favorite wooden chess piece for comfort. We went into a dollar store and picked out a little green Power Ranger with movable limbs; he hardly ever asks for anything and he's got brothers and a sister who usually get a lot of things. I never realized till that moment that yeah, he has a lot too, but it's not as much as his siblings, not as personally unique to him, chosen by him. That Power Ranger really made his day. We went to the pediatrician's office and he was a doll, very polite at all times, as his nature is very serious, but he was holding that little guy the whole time, the chess piece forgotten. He didn't want to come straight home yet; I think he really wanted time with just me and not his siblings having my attention too, so we drove home in the van and talked about what we saw outside, about the Power Ranger, about school.
I've committed to making even more of an effort to spend time with him and to each of my children on one special day for each, at least once a week, and not just when they're sick.
That's what I should do anyway, so it's probably not truly unique, but I don't always do it every week, give each child their own day with me without the other kids, and they really tend to be happier when I do, and so do I. Bonding time is important to a family, and to me, so I think it's a nice thing to do.

A small bird fell out of it's nest. I spent about a half hour chasing the little bastard. He could almost fly but not ascend. He was the runt. It was kind of funny when I put him back up there his brother/sister was watching very closely walking over and once I set him up by the perch near it's nest the bird watching looked at me and then flew off. Like it realized I was a person and forgot about it's curiosity.
Maybe he would have lived if I had left him on the ground and the only thing I accomplished was scaring the hell out of it, but I felt better knowing he was safe.

Well, yesterday I was all anxious in a panic about something that was going on in my life. And, the fact that I have to dish out $1500 this weekend in bills and don't know if I'll be able to get all the money I need. However, I still made time to give to two homeless guys without a second thought even though I'm in need of money myself :). I'm proud of me!

Hey Searcher,
a dear friend of mine is leaving for Europe today and returning on September 5th. She's super nervous because she's flying into and returning from London and she's flying on American Airlines.
I've been praying and fasting with her during the week regarding her decision to go.
Anyhow i made her a 41 page booklet with a bible passage and thought for each day and pictures with bible verses on them to encourage her and i called the book a safe journey home.
Anyhow that's something pretty cool that i did this week.
Blessings =),

What I did or do in my personal life has nothing to do with my online life.
When ever I receive 10 points for something I post, it is because I answer a question best. Not because of what I do for people when I'm not on the computer.

I gave a neighbor a hug.
I just moved into my neighborhood 3 wks ago, but when I saw a neighbor crying as she got out of her car, I went over to her. Her daughter is an f'd up meth addict, and has been really unstable lately. She told me her problems, and I gave her a shoulder to cry on.
I'd want someone to do the same for me...

One of the ladies I work with made a mistake and was getting really chewed out by one of the other ladies we work with. I knew she was feeling down, so I offered her some M&Ms, her favorite candy, which seemed to cheer her up.

I bought this old homeless woman who sweeps up everything in sight dinner.
It could be your grandma who lost her marbles then forgot where she lives.
I don't much believe in magical fairies who punish or reward us in heaven or hell, I do believe that our own conscience can guide us without such carrots and sticks. I know there are a great number of religious organizations which might feed her, but they don't care nearly as much about feeding her as they do about converting her.
