Home made ice-cream (without using a machine)
INGREDIENTS: 1 large pot of double cream, 1 egg beaten, 1 egg yolk, 4oz sugar, dash of milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional, you can also use tinned fruit of your choice, just puree it first).
METHOD: Light the ring on the hob. Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and put on hob. Heat until boiling, stirring continuously. Put mixture in a freezer safe container and cover. Place in freezer for 2 hours. After 2 hours remove from the freezer and stir well. Put in the freezer for a further 2 hours and then stir again. Put back in the freezer until solid. Eat!
This ice-cream contains nothing artificial, so only lasts for about a month. However, it is to die for!

a little snack that tastes lovely.
A slice of brown bread and cut a hole in it with a cutter. Cook some chopped Spanish chorizo sausage. Fry the bread a little to brown. Gently cut open a quails egg and fry in the hole in the middle of the bread.
Once it's cooked put the bread and egg carefully on a plate and put a little of the chorizo on top, finish it off with the 'hat' which you cut out of the bread.

Here are some easy dessert recipes for you:
Busy Day Cobbler
1/3 cup butter
1 cup flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 cup milk
one large can sliced peaches with liquid
1/4 cup additional sugar
1 Tbsp cinnamon
Melt butter in 8 by 11 inch baking dish. In bowl combine flour, 1/3 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and milk. Pour over butter but do not stir. Over this pour sliced peaches (liquid included, but not all of it - I usually leave about 1 inch of liquid in the can, if you pour in all the liquid, it's too much)
Sprinkle peaches with additional sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Good served warm with ice cream.

For a main course I like to put a roast in the crock pot with a can of beer, and a package of Italian Dressing(powder). Let it cook all day and have a great dinner after work with virtually no effort.
