I am not pro drug or anything I know what drugs can do to but can we legalise weed if for sole reason maybe people wouldn't drink so much alcohol. I believe reason that alcohol is so abused in our society is it's about the only mind altering drug legally available maybe if we allow a more beneign drug maybe people would ease off the booze. Just my two cents

I am not sure if it would decrease alcohol consumption but legalizing it would save the gov't millions in prosecutions and incarcerations for something that in my opinion is nearly completely benign. Also my personal feeling is that what a person does in the privacy of their home is nobody else's business, particularly the gov't, and there's nothing like a good Thai stick.

i like to do both but if i had a choice it would be pot. its a plant with no long term ill effects. unlike alcohol which can cause disease and addictions. alcohol in america is used differenlty in america than in other places like europe. in europe you don't drink to get drunk its more of a social thing. public drunkeness is frowned upon there here its is accepted. not always but you go to a bar and what do you see? drunks. weed is better than alcohol.

i don't smoke and i still think it should be legal. not only for the argument you put forth, but also so it can be taxed, regulated safely by the FDA, and rid the justice system of being bogged down by non-violent drug possession cases.
