Yes, it's true. That's why people overuse their perfumes, and attempt to kill other species by their odor.

Takes a lot less than 2 hours for the same smell. When making perfume, I guess they handle a lot of different smells and sense of smell's reactivated by each.
The sense of smelling stops registering a smell after a pretty short while. Like when you visit a new house, there's a certain smell when you enter but a couple of minutes later, you don't notice it at all. People who live in houses with mould problems often smell really yucky, but they don't know it themselves. No idea why this happens, hope somebody else does.

It's not that the nose stops smelling, but the sensors have adapted to the smell. That's why people should own more than one fragrance. If they wear one too long, the nose no longer registers it as "new" so doesnt even bother to process it. It's the same thing with heat/cold adaptation. First the pool feels FREEZING but eventually the nerves stop firing.

Yes. Have you ever noticed, that after putting on perfume, you can't smell it any more, after 2 hours but others can smell it?
It's true. Some smells you can detect a lot longer but they are always bad smells.

yeah ..next time u go to Sephora...or any other mall with perfumes they usually have a glass with coffee beans. That is supposed to help your nose when smelling so many different perfumes. (kinda like a clean nose pallet.

Yea, after smelling the same thing for a long amount of time, your brain just phases it out. Haven't you ever been in a place you had to be at and it smelled "questionable", after awhile you don't notice it.

not that long but yes it does. your senses adjust to the smell eventually after some exposure. ever go on vacation and come back to your house only to find out it stinks? you get used to it to the point where you don't notice it anymore. same as with any other odor you may encounter.

i think our nose just gets used to the smell.
for example, when i go to a stinky place, such as my violin teacher's house, it STINKS at first
after about 30 minutes, the stink seems to subside
