Find out her favorite restaurant, and go there before your dinner date. Put a big beautiful bouquet of flowers, a candle and a special card on the table, so when you both arrive, the table will be set for just the two of you. We girls honestly appreciate the thought that goes into a present even more than the present. After your romantic dinner, you'll win her over for sure.

Surprize her with some flowers and just get her a little promise ring or a really cute watch or necklace you can find good inexpensive gifts at walmart. After that may take her out to eat at her favorite resturant. Who knows this girl could be your wife make the first expression the best one even if it dont work she will always think about the sweet things you did for her on her birthday.

Get a box.
Card shops have them, even the dollar store.
Nice wrapping paper, and a really nice big ribbon (bow).

On a simple piece of paper, write down all the nice things about her, or what you like about her so far. Or just one simple line....I like you! is all you have to do.

If she thinks that is so sweet, she is a gem of a girl.
If she doesn't, then be prepared to hand over your wallet all the time.

If that is not what you want to put in the box.
Put a tiny teddy bear inside. Girls like furry things.

No card is needed when you do something like this.
But (note) the box has too look really pretty. Big bow!!!

This will also tell you something about her in how she accepts it.
If she is happy with that, then she is not after your $$$$
If she starts to act cold to you after that in the days ahead, it was because she expected you to spend more $$$$$$$ on her.

We all want to be like for who we are, not what we can give or have.

Best of luck.

You might could give her a card with a gift certificate in it, a teddy bear with a rose and chocolates, or maybe a nice pair of earrings, but not expensive.

Take her out to dinner andd then some kind of activity, not just a movie. Go out somewhere fun. Of get her something that she is interested in. If she likes certain things think of something creative.

Depends on her personality. If she's goofy-a bright big balloon saying HB! on it would be cute. Or maybe buy her favorite alcohol and watch a funny movie at home.
