I nearly laughed at my mom's. Picture a country funeral parlor; a fan someplace has the shiny slate-colored curtain that hides the viewing area (my mom's body was cremated, so the gaping stage for the coffin was curtained) while "A Mighty Fortess is Our God (aka the Davy and Goliath theme) played in the background. I'd been watching an old Vincent Price movie a few nights before because I couldn't sleep. All I could think of was Vincent Price playing Dr Phibes. I wanted to laugh 'til I cried, but my uncle would have killed me there in the pew.
Life -- and death -- is funny, isn't it?

I went to a wedding last year where the vicar gave what I can only describe as a fundamentalist rant. It was so long, we thought there would be a funeral at some point. The last "amen" was said with such heartfelt relief that a statue of Our Lady fell off the font.

I try to avoid them and most people expect I will not go. I hate even being in those creepy churches. I have been in 13 but have been lucky enough to be an usher or switch to one so I don't have to attend. When I do go I make sure I have a six pack in me first. Makes the whole boring event go faster.

I laugh all the time, at the most inopportune times. I will get the giggles and I can't stop. People will either sit beside me because they know they will enjoy themselves or as far away as possible because they know that is where the Police will go first. LOL!

Only once at my sis' wedding more than a decade ago. I controlled my tears though. Maybe it's because of the the reality that she's not gonna stay in our house anymore, I'd miss her but deep inside me was joy of celebration because she was always too bossy in the house and always bullied me.

Nope, But at one wedding I went to when we saw the bride before the wedding she was crying before hand, ALL the way thru the wedding (which was 50 minutes long) and even afterwards, but not so much afterwards. She even told us she was crying the night before. And Yes she wanted to get married. and they are still happily married to this day.

No, I don't. I did not cry at my brothers funeral. He was only 21 and I was still in a shock.

i guess the reason why the parents of the groom and bride cried is because they see that their children are going to be apart from them physically to start a family of their own, and seeing how grow up they are makes them misses them in the old days back when they were kids
