I love reading apologetics for Islamic war. People so ignorant they respond with stuff like "Islam is ___", as if they are the caliph (emperor of Islam) and the only Muslim and thus the only one who can define his religion.

I dont know why people dont get this, but most dont, Muslim and Non-Muslim alike. Let me try to explain this again.

Religions have their "sects". A sect is a larger grouping of people with such a difference view about the religion as a whole, they are labeled differently, such as Sufi, Sunni or Shia.

Even withing sects, no two people precisely agree on what Islam really is or how it is really applied. This of course is true for other religions.

So, when an ignorant apologist starts with "look buddy, Islam is not that, Islam is ___" you already know your dealing with an ignorant person.

What matters to non-believers is not whether 'some muslims' believe in a peaceful version, what really matters is how many dont! Islam is what it does. Period.

Old men with white beards, who obviously hate women. Women are not part of making up this "Sharia Law".

There is no other than Muslims who are willing to sacrifice everything including their own lives for the sake of their God and the weak and vulnerable amongst humans. Once that is understood -and I am not wasting my time on details for no good reason- other mysteries solve themselves. For example, why does the Illuminati seem concerned about decimation strategy with regard to a religion (Bear in mind they have succeeded in complete alienation of Judeo-Christians)? Is there anything they can do about it? So far, all is to no avail, not only that but the are loosing big time, in terms of Men and Money.

We live in a world in crisis on every front -- political, economic, moral, cultural, and, most crucially, ecological. This is not the first time the world has faced crises, but it is the first time that we must confront such global crises on so many fronts with so little time for correcting the course. Our margin of error is shrinking by the day. I cannot offer definitive data and logic to prove this, but I firmly believe that these crises pose a threat of a new, and quite frightening, order. The widening of the inequality gap, the pace of technological change and the accompanying unintended consequences of that change, and the destructive capacity not only of our military machine but of the way we live our daily lives -- all have upped the ante. The fallout of our failures can no longer be easily contained and will not remain localized.

We are stumbling into something that I believe we don’t really understand, but the markers of the intensity of the threats -- the breakdown of the values needed to sustain real human community and the weakening of ecosystems needed to sustain life -- are easy enough to see if one wants to see them.

Mankind today is on the brink of a precipice, not because of the danger of complete annihilation which is hanging over its head-this being just a symptom and not the real disease -but because humanity is devoid of those vital values which are necessary not only for its healthy development but also for its real progress. Even the Western world realises that Western civilization is unable to present any healthy values for the guidance of mankind. It knows that it does not possess anything which will satisfy its own conscience and justify its existence.

On the misconceptions you have pointed out, there is a great deal more to write, most of it showing how current practices in many Muslim lands go against what the Qur'an and Sunnah have ordained, lands in which women are treated as property (unIslamic), are not educated (unIslamic), are forbidden their economic rights (unIslamic), and more. On this point in particular, we encourage everyone to consult the Qur'an and Sunnah before incriminating Islam. Always remember that Islam is a complete way of life from the Creator, and that Muslims are people who claim to follow that way of life. A Muslim may claim to follow Islam, but be wrong.

Las Vegas Steve,
Agree tht it is especailly easy but errant to make general statements about Islam. But one statement that I have is that it is a false religion. That I can use my own knowledge leading me to that conclusion. Mainly that is true because I know that I think that the Bible are the true sciptures, and are not saying the same things about Jesus and God.

So I am by saying that Islam is a false religion, choosing a side out of faith and knowledge, and not fence- walking.

Part ofd the reason why I am so open and candid about it, is because it makes them angry. They need to be made angry. Because I know that the minute they step out of line in the wrong place, they will expose themselves and be dealt with and harshly I hope. This war between Israel and Hebollah is a baby compared to what is coming. I do not take kindly to those that would enslave me and kill our people.

So I can say at risk of seeming ignorant:
Muhammed is a freak and an insane idiot who lied about God and is peaching what the Satan told him to. Islam is a curse on the Earth, and anyone who says that is wrong can shove it up their hole, the place where the Quaran came out of.

The fundamentalists in any religion are those who truly define it. By believing in the literal truth of their religion they reveal it for the ancient ignorance that it is.

The apologists (muslim or otherwise) compromise their religion with the world around them. It makes them easier to live with. I have many religious friends. They are all apologists, however, and I believe they are all hypocrites.

What I find strange is that there are so many different types of Muslims and the fact that they claim that the Qua ran is the same since inception, not a single dot or iota changed sine then. Yet the difference in belief.
