Are we (parents) giving our teens too much excuses?This is especially frustrating when you have step children.

"I wasn't told to do that" or "I just don't like it"...
Bed left unmake after waking up, going to bed or waking up without showering first, wearing shoes in the house, dishes left in the sink and was piled up, not wanting to eat vegetables, still in their pjs at noon time, brush their teeth at noon, messy rooms, creased clothings. Are parents of todays teens pampered their children too much? Teens (not majority but a great deal of it) nowadays were told,as a child that ,if they dun like certain vegetables, they can don't eat it (even though it is good for them) and mummy won't cook them again, they can leave their room and not making the bed after waking up. They can leave dishes in the sink and glasses elsewhere. What happened to the old fashioned upbringing that we were once taught-as a child-to eat what was dished out and explaning the nutrional value of food and clean up our mess and be a responsible being? What can you do with step children when you have no control over them?

Gurl, let me tell you sit their behind down, and lay down I mean lay down the rules, let them know you are the women in the house and that they will respect you and what you say.

Talk to your husband make sure you both are on the same page and tell them with him as your back up

Wow, where were these parents when we were growing up. Teaching a child responsibility for themselves and property, teaching them good eating habit and good hygiene is essential.
The chances of these children growing up to be overweight, lazy, slobs and in poor health seems to be greater than children brought up the opposite.
Imagine being used to as a child to eat whatever you want, sleep as late as you want, go where you want, act the way you want, not pick up after yourself. Now you an adult and find out that is not behavior that is going to be accepted by most of society.
Being late for work, loosing roommates cause no one wants to live with a slob. Being lonely because your hygiene skills are non existent. Talk about culture shock when they grow up. Not being well adjusted human beings and finding the world will not cater to them.
In some countries they do not have the issues are teens face. because the teenage years are much shorter. By 13 the are consider a men/ women. By that time they know how to build their own home and survive on their own. More an opinion than help. Sorry.

Well their has to be conditions like when you are in my house these are my rules and when you go over to the other parents house they have their rules, You need to get together with your spouse and set up some rules in the house take back your home heck they don't make the house payment do they. Kids want some sort of sturcuter and guidance and its never to let to give it to them make it a rule you cant leave until this is done it has to be consistent in the beging or it want work. As far as them eating better don't allow junk food in the house and like I said before make that a rule to with consequences to their actions that they will have. Good luck teens are hard times are changing you do though need to set rules and stick to them

I consider you. even if, i might want to go away it to the faculty to do the sex talk and sex ed interior the start because they could clarify it a lot more beneficial effectual and answer questions a lot more beneficial effectual than i am going to. i became also by no ability given "the talk", my father and mom left it to the faculty, which I consider. i'm purely 13, so i'm not particularly particular how they are going to be about this. Like in the experience that they are open about it or not. even as my destiny youngsters become old, i might want to continually enable them recognize i'm right here in the experience that they ever mandatory something if had to do with sex or not. I only favor to be an open, user-friendly to talk with confirm.
