Finally found something my little girl loves. Fish. I cook it until it's falling off the bones and mash it up for her with a fork and she eats almost a whole medium trout or salmon fillet by herself and washes it down with a 7 ounce bottle of milk. I make sure there are no bones and she is very happy, but is she too young for so much meat? I'm glad to have found a food she enjoys, so I don't want to rock the boat. Is this fine for babys?

My baby will not eat fruits and only eats carrots, guac and sweet potato for vegetable, when she feels like it. Trust me i have tried.

It should be fine as long as it's cooked good I wouldn't make it a nightly thing because of the mercury but every once in a while fish will be fine. As long as she can keep the foods down she can eat everything you have except for honey also don't add seasoning to her food she doesn't need it and if you don't let her have it then she won't grow up thinking that she must have it! I've also heard if you introduce peanut's to early it can cause allergy so I would stay away from that until she's a year or older.

"..lean fish...at 8 months...fatty fish (...salmon...) at 9 months; and shellfish...after one year because they are high allergy foods. As with other solid foods, meat should be pureed to a smooth consistency for young babies...Before feeding any meat/poultry/fish to your baby, get your pediatrician's OK. Warning: Never give sushi or other raw fish, meat, or poultry to babies or children. Do not feed your baby fried fish or meat."
The above is from Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron (highly recommend this book). So technically you are a month early on the salmon, but I think you're ok. The things to watch for are allegeries, which she doesn't seem to be having. Sounds like you have a healthy baby, hope she continues to eat salmon her whole life long. It's really good for her hair!

I would consider a balanced diet that includes some fruits and vegtables .A child will eat when it is hungry and allowing a baby to eat what must be 16 ounces of fish is not good for any child portions around 8ounces of fish would be more appropriate

Fish is an excellent source of lean protein. Go to your states DNR website or to the US FDA website and read as too how much your baby can consume. There are high levels of mercury and carcinogens in certain fish. Just stay within the regulated consumption guides.

Well you should watch out for mercury. Don't let her eat fish more than twice a week. Do not give her TUNA which has the highest level of mercury amongst commercialized fish. Mercury is bad for an adult being, dangerous for a baby.

That's great that she's eating so well !! Limit her fish to twice a week ( same for adults ) and Gerber makes a fruit snack that dissolves in your mouth. It's the only way I can get my babies daily fruit into them.

For my babies I would mix the mashed fish with baby cereal and maybe add a little carrot baby food. They loved it.

I think its ok except for the mercury that the fish has in it... Its not so healthy to eat fish all the time especially for little babies... once in a while is good for you.

yes,I don't think it is a big problem,if the food has no bones, just make sure it's not salty, because salt is not good for baby. if she enjoys it and does not show any allergies then it's ok.
