I love snails...The best kind I've had were at a seafood place in Seattle, they were in a garlic & white wine sauce with melted asiago cheese on top, then it was served with toast points to put the snails on to eat. It was SO good. If you like mushrooms, you'll probably like snails, they're very similar in taste and texture.

I don't know if garden snails are edible but I do like snails called Escargot in a restaurant. They are served in their shells with a garlic butter sauce and they are delicious and expensive too!

I haven't tried Snails- I don't think I ever will too- but a friend of mine says she eats them a lot when she goes back home, she said they taste like chicken and were very tasty.

Its dangerous. Make sure you do it right. More salt is the better, just becasue it gets rid of the toxins. Also the type of snail is VERY important. Read this article carefully first:

Yes, I have tried them once and had several at that one sitting. The taste is not bad, it's getting past the texture and grittiness. I believe they were steamed in their shells with a garlic butter. Pretty good actually. Touche'.

Let other people cook them for you and then eat them. They are very, very well recommended but I would not put them in my pack lunch every day.
