Hard to say. Nearly half of us humans are in China and India combined, and although China might "say" there are hundreds of millions of soldiers, you can't believe them. Or, at least, many of those are no more soldiers than a weekend hunter. It provides the look of strength, though. As for truly capable forces, i.e.., professional soldiers, several million in the West, say 10 million in China, several million in the midEast, and I'd say we're VERY lucky if the number gets as high as 20 million truly professional soldiers. Each country of course would throw out many millions more men lightly armed and trained, to defend Earth, but THEN we are talking about nearly every man, and probably all women too, if it comes down to it. So, there are probably 3 to 4 billion adults capable of at least wrestling with an alien, but largely cannon fodder. (Not to mention even our professional soldiers are cannon fodder to any aliens that could actually get all the way here!)

Probably not enough to fend off intergalactic invaders. Just think, even if all the nations in the world united, do you really think we could destroy a threat from a race that can cruise the galaxy? Possibly even travel trough time? Imagine the weapons they'd possess. We'd get fuckedup bigger than shiit. Plus, Humans are too busy fighting among themselves, we'd be too worried about "insurgents" and "terrorists" to even have the sense to unite against an alien threat.

About 600 million people big. It is really hard to calculate every single nations' amount of armed forces personnel. But 600 million is about right. China has 300 million troops, and the US comes in second with about 2.26 million personnel, including reserves. Countries would unite with everyone, even their enemies, because evryone would die if we didn't. The UN would also get involved. They have an unspecified amount of troops.

The military would get wiped out for the most part because they don't really think....History has shown the best soldiers are always the civilians. Just look at the movie Red Dawn

If aliens arrived here then all the armies in the world would not be enough to match their technology

Before most of the forces could get together...they would have to concor world peace.

I don't think alot of countries would come together..they would pobably act on their own.

I hope it doesn't happen. The Dutch will trip over their hair, the Belgians will go home for lunch and the Irish will escort the Martians into Cork harbour.

Big... but they would all still be a big bunch of bloody thicko's who couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag.... my money would be on the aliens... but then again, faced with the army of girl guides... the little girls would win!
